Xiaomi Mi 3 scores 100,000 registrations in India
No less than 100,000 people have already registered to be able to purchase the Xiaomi Mi 3 when it goes on sale in India tomorrow.
Earlier this month, the Chinese smartphone maker announced its entrance in India. And last week it started allowing people to register to be able to buy the Mi 3 starting on July 22. This has been done in conjunction with Flipkart, which is Xiaomi's exclusive retail partner in the subcontinent.
It definitely looks like many Indians are very excited to see Xiaomi arrive in their country. Unfortunately for them, it's quite unlikely that the mobile device maker will actually have 100,000 Mi 3 units on hand to sell tomorrow.
It is, after all, the pioneer of the 'flash sale' business model, whereby it only makes limited batches of products available from time to time.
If you want a Mi 3 but haven't registered yet, you only have a few hours to do that still - on Xiaomi's website. The sale itself will start on July 22 at 12 pm local time.
Xiaomi also plans to bring its cheaper models, the Redmi 1S and Redmi Note, to India - though that will only happen sometime next month.
Thanks for sending this in, Tushar!
