9.6-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab E goes official in Taiwan

15 June, 2015

Today the Galaxy Tab E was officially listed on Samsung's website for Taiwan. This new affordable tablet kept leaking last week, first in a print magazine, and then through some promo images.

Now though the device has been announced by its maker, just for the Taiwanese market at this point. That said, it will undoubtedly make its way to other places in the near future.

Samsung Galaxy Tab E

The Galaxy Tab E has a 9.6-inch 1,280x800 touchscreen, a 5 MP rear camera, a 2 MP selfie cam, a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable storage, and a 5,000 mAh battery. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat and not Lollipop. It's only got Wi-Fi connectivity, no mobile data, but a separate model with that additional functionality may be launched later.

It's 8.5 mm thin and it weighs 490g. As for pricing, in Taiwan it's going to go for the equivalent of $226, or €200. So if it ever lands stateside, it might be offered for around $199-$249. This should basically appeal to those who want the cheapest possible big tablet that has the name Samsung on it. In Taiwan, it will be out by the end of the month.

Really? I am using a tab s 8.4 LTE but never seen a lag! Updated it to lollipop and it works great. Are you sure that you are using a original samsung premium class product? Because you sound like using some cheap Chinese phone.
