I want a phone for long term use with good build quality and display. I am not a hardcore gamer I just play them casually but still that doesn't mean it should be crap with performance..... I just want sth to last without major issues... So will the a55 do or there are other phones in the same price range that I should consider......

In Samsung's Exynos 1480 website they say chipset is capable of 4k/60fps video recording, but why they don't give us option to make use of it in the phone settings?

Sampathmk595, 24 May 2024Which one is the better samsung A55 or redmi note13 pro 5gThat redmi is actually not that bad but only if it's significantly cheaper. Good main camera but weird colours, especially front cam. Not to mention the cheap lens with slight chromatic aberration and the ultrawide with extreme chromatic aberration ( large pink outlines when taking photos in bright light).
As for the samsung it has a much better processor, takes videos that are not crap but has one big con. It does not have camera2 api/ raw capture and you cannot use advanced third party camera apps. The ultrawide is also not good but at least not as crap as the redmi.
In terms of everything else, I prefer the samsung (speaker, software, etc)

The Best Midranger for 2024
The display is amazing with a 120 Hz refresh rate, 1000 nits brightness, and lively colors, all protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+. The overall in-hand feel is comparable to a flagship, though it lacks thinner bezels. The back cover is made of glass, so you need a case if you drop it.
Camera
The camera takes astonishing photos that are full of details, bright, and have much better noise cancellation in dark pictures. Videos are super stable thanks to OIS, and the fps in the videos is consistent.
Performance
The Exynos 1480 is the best midrange CPU that Samsung has ever made. Their 4LPP+ 4nm process shows its potential, resulting in a powerful, efficient CPU with great thermal management. I'm really impressed by the CPU's performance, achieving 720k on Antutu 10 and 95-99% stability on the Wildlife 3D Mark benchmark test. I wasn't expecting something like this from an Exynos chip. The GPU is based on AMD RDNA 2 and is very stable; games have okayish optimization for that architecture, which will probably improve with future updates. Combined with 6, 8, or 12 GB RAM, it delivers very good overall performance.
Speakers
One of the best, with support for Dolby Atmos, which makes the bass a little deeper.
Battery Life and Charging
Precisely because the CPU is efficient, battery life is outstanding for a Samsung A series, achieving around 9-10 hours SOT. Charging is reliable and can get you through the day with a 20-minute charge.
Software
One UI is the best for productivity and multitasking, with plenty of AI features here and there (Galaxy AI is not included as it's only for flagship devices). Smooth and fast navigation, everything is designed to save you time and ensure you can finish your tasks on time.
