A good smartphone. I have it for 3.5years now and still use it everywhere, at work & city.
Advantages: the price! in my country I find it around 300Euro.
Really resistent (many times falling down), still operable in rain, the magnet from the back of the phone still good like in the day I took it, the dimmension 5'' perfect for every pocket;
The battery is keeping well, the most discharging operation of the battery is about data signaling, but if you put on airplane mode, even if you play it some offline games for a while the battery will stay for 3/4days;
Good signaling even in my country side which with other smartphones I reach it hard and is only 4G;
The chipset Mediatek MT6797X Helio X27 with Deca-core mix still keeping my updated apps fast with no problem of lagging/delaying like an 2023 smartphone and I must say I am using plenty applications which requiring locations, data mobile, bluetooth, hotspot, watching videos, the thinks which supose to make mobile slower.
Disadvantages:
Is true the bug said from reviews, some times is open automaticaly Bluetooth and Location settings but for me was not a big problem, is not happeing so often to bother. The microphone and sound still working well, nothing happened like I was reading in the reviews.
The camera. Normal picture-shoots/ during night-picture still ok. You can not expect big performance on that.
Is not my case, but if you wanna replace something on the smartphone like broken screen or whatever, for sure, you will not find pieces at services, so atleast this is the case in my country. Conclusion on that: the garanty worthless.

Somebody mentioned this phone after I commented on the amazing batery life on my Asus ROG 5 phone, when I set the refresh rate low and clock it down, it is still lightning fast for any applications apart from gaming, and when I want to game I can just set it back. At the adjusted performance setting is lasts my battery for days. Ok, it is not waterproof, so it is really not a comparable phone, but when I look at this phone specs I would just have to sit down and cry, whereas the ROG has two charge ports, amazing battery, amazing display, pretty decent camera, good cooling performance, and I can connect it up to a docking station and I use that a lot when on holiday to hook it up to the TV and use it for Netflix or Youtube or Disney or whatever I like to watch. I can imagine this LR phone being just what some people want, but it wouldn't even come close to fulfill my desires.

Cameras are not 16MP / 8MP for sure.
Most likely they seem to be 5MP / 2MP.
That's my only disappointment.

Adel, Phone CAT 011 465 3047, they helped us with a Duel sim on a CAT phone. She told us that the CAT and Discovery phones are the same manufacturers and if we bring in our Discovery Land Rover phone they will assist us again with the duel sim and software update. And it is free, no costs.

Really a very big disipointment. I take a contract at Vodacom and we told them we want dual sim, after we try to use dual SIM and Vodacom call centre could not help me I phoned LandRover explore self who told me my phone do not support dual SIM. I ask if there is anywhere on the box or phone where it spesified that it is duel or not and they replaid NO..... I ask how do the provider know if it is a dual SIM or not and they say the provider must check on the sistem at the IMIE nr. That was a shocker because I want a dual and now I am stuck with this phone that has s lot and lot of problems For my average usage a day I have to charge it 3 times a day. And please don't come with the excuse of something is using the battery. I even went so far to take out my sim card and put the phone of when I went to hospital. 2 days later the LandRover explore battery was so flat it take more than 5min just to show it is now charging but my Sumsang with the Sim card in it had more than 75% power.
And my phone get so warm that I can not touch it. I do not take a call or put it next to me because I am to afraid it will explode. I am really afraid it will set whatever is under it on fire, that is how hot mine gets. I am using mine for only 5days now sins I got out of hospital it makes a big distortion on the phone that I can't here my husband voice.This is from LandRover to LandRover phone but when I call from my Sumsang there is no noice. I am very very dissipointed . I paid a lot for a phone that I am definitely not going to use and I am definitely going to advice people not to buy it. I am going to post it on Instagram and Facebook and in SA ,"hello Peter" because nobody wants to help me Vodacom tell me to contact LandRover and LandRover tell me to contact my provider. Vodacom don't want to exchange it but are willing to sent it " for repairs"
It is not only my phone but my husband's LandRover to that's giving the same problems. I have my Samsung but my husband do not have a spare phone so he will be without a phone until it is "repaired"
You really should recall this probleme phones and go back to the drawing board. I will never buy another LandRover explore or advise someone to buy one

Bob, 24 Jul 2019You might want to have a look and see which app is killing ... more@Bob
Hi and thank you for your suggestion. I have looked at battery usage, but it never has actually said what was using power. It has always just said Battery usage data isn't available. I don't have any social media apps, gps is off, it is pretty stripped down to be used just as a phone, texts and occasionally play music. It has become habit to clear any app I have used from recents menu to ensure it doesn continue running in background as soon as I finished with it. Have even disabled all of the google apps, play store etc... to prevent those from running at all. WiFi is only turned on as required and same with mobile data.
But my new phone arrived last week, a cheap Moto E5 and it is incredibly superior to the Explore in every respect in real world usage. And a single charge lasts nearly 2 full days. So the Explore will be hitting ebay very soon. Hopefully, somebody else is wanting a very heavy, power hungry handwarmer for winter walks.

Have had this phone for just about a year. First impressions; Don't drop it - you'll dent your floor! It is a fairly heavy beast, and that is without the adventure pack. However, despite its 4000 battery, I found it has never lasted a full day even when I barely used it. So I had to start using the adventure pack full time. Really don't understand why the battery life is so poor. My wife's phone has a battery nearly half the capacity, spends all day in social media and youtube, but still has 30% at bed time. Si Bullit, if you are listening, SORT THE BATTERY OUT. It is currently running down to 40% by bed time, and that after draining the battery pack first by mid afternoon.
The case which holds tge battery pack and phone is too big for the phone. I have had it literally fall out of its case which scratched the phone edges. Screen is mint though. Also, the clip thibg which slides into the case is too loose. No way would I trust that and the caribeener to hold such a tank of a phone to my back pack. Bullit need to be a lot more precise in the manufacturing and measuring process if they try this again.
The phone is supposed to be good in temps up to 65 degrees C. However, in my greenhouse listening to music from the phone, greenhouse was 41 degrees C. Phone rang, so I picked it up to talk and dropped it because it was too hot to hold. The phone is prone to getting hot when in light use anyway. Makes a nice hand warmer for the wife on winter walks. But still, that is not really a good way to use a phone. This is probably why the battery life is so poor, its constantly turning power into heat. Bullit need to sort this out.
The phone specs, well they sounded usable before I bought the thing! Slow and sluggish. Camera is so so. Ive disabled the vast majority of the apps that couldn be unistalled to try and eek out battery life and performance. Marginal improvement at best. Software updates are waaaayyyyyy behind. About 3 months after Android 9 came out, my phone reported a software update available. I got all excited thinking I was going to get 9 and hopefully huge improvements in device performance and battery life but I went from 8 to 8.1. Whoooo.... And no improvements anywhere to be found. Considering how much I payed for this phone, it would be nice to see some form of ongoing support from Bullit. It seems very much like "We'll take your £550 and you'll never hear from us again".
I regret getting this phone and can say wholeheartedly, I will never buy another Bullit/Landrover device again. And just yesterday, my battery pack is no longer charging the handset. I have to charge my phone twice a say now, and I use it maybe 40 minutes a day screen on. The only good point of this phone is it can take a good knock, which is great but not enough. My advice to Bullit, don't bother upgrading this handset. You need to go back to the drawing board.

This phone will probably be upgraded in about a year. Question to all Land Rover Explore owners: What would you like to see improved on, replaced, dropped, added? Anything to make the phone better? If we're lucky, Bullitt Group (the manufacturer) will read your comments and act on them. Let me start with this suggestion - Include all possible mobile bands to make the phone fully capable internationally, to allow someone to go out and "Explore" anywhere.
