A few things about this phone; the most important is the fact that it does NOT have flash (unfortunately). Even more unfortunate is the lack of a secondary front camera (for video calls) and the fact that it's main back camera records QVGA (as far as we know). However, the SnapDragon running at 768 MHz isn't necessarily a bad thing. The fact that Acer didn't over-customize this phone's OS is reason enough to underclock the obviously capable processor. Not only does that extend battery life, but at the time of its release, this phone will STILL be one of the fastest phones available. And although it will be running Android 1.6 at its release, Acer has confirmed that it will be upgradeable to 2.0 next year. The most exciting thing about this phone (for me) is the fact that it will be the first Android phone capable of running on AT&T's 3G network. Take that, iCan't!

I think the cpu is under-clocked because the android OS won't need 1000Mhz to run smoothly and hence the excess in speed would be wasting of battery life..

The CPU is probably under clocked to save battery life.

The CPU must probably be under clocked to save battery life. (Like on original iPhone)

Acer probably under clocked the CPU to save battery, like with the original iPhone.

As a proud owner of HTC hero, I can see that there are still many problem inherit from Android handsets.
512 ROM is not enough once the phone is loaded with apps.
256 RAM without any virtual memory mean the phone will be slow down once its start multi-tasking.
Only 5 hrs talk time because of the same old 1350 mAh battery. I thought Acer would've at least learn something from Hero flaw.

IMO, 19 Oct 2009GSMArena needs to update the specs for this phone... It has... moreActually i'v seen that Acer Liquid has 1Ghz processor too so at the moment i'm not pretty sure if this phone has 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, 768 MHz Snapdragon processor or also i've readen is that it has and ARM processor instead of Snapdragon.

GSMArena needs to update the specs for this phone... It has a 1 GHz process not a 768 MHz.

Anonymous, 16 Oct 2009Has the actual HSDPA frequencies been announced, or is the ... moreIt'll work with AT&T 3G either way, but the reliability of the 3G signal will be quite different depending on the status of that 850MHz band. I'm guessing it is a 900/1900/2100 phone, to be honest... As that is what all of the other Acer phone are listed as. I get 3G fine in *most* areas on my i8910 here on AT&T. Most areas, but not all, and one of those 3G deadspots seems to be my apartment (where my Nokia E71 and 5800 got perfect 3G signal). So, it's a bit of a toss up. When I'm at home I can use WiFi easily, and when I'm out I usually get 3G, but it isn't a definite thing. I too would love to see any Android phone drop with 850/1900/2100 compatibility.

The 3G compatibility is a bit conflicting here and around the web. I would really love to see this thing running on 850/1900/2100 (North American World Spec), but other sites such as Phone Arena are saying it is Euro World Spec of 900/1900/2100. The US needs an Android phone we can use on AT&T, and I'm sure some of our southern and northern brothers would love to get on some 3G Android action as well. Make it happen, Acer.

Has the actual HSDPA frequencies been announced, or is the listing here and elsewhere pure speculation? I've seen 850/1900/2100 here and 900/1900/2100 on other sites...which one it is makes all the difference as to whether it'll work on ATT or not. Has anyone seen any evidence either way?
