The entry-level alcatel 1, detailed specs and renders for which leaked late last week, has now been made official by the company. The device costs $89/€79, and will be available "in select markets" starting July (it's reasonable to assume the US and Europe will be getting it).

The device is powered by Mediatek's MT6739 chipset, and sports a 5-inch display of 960x480 pixel resolution (18:9 aspect ratio). RAM is 1GB, while storage is 8GB. The camera department is handled by a 5MP rear unit and a 2MP (interpolated to 5MP) front shooter.

Measuring 137.6 x 65.7 x 9.8mm and weighing in at 134g, the device runs Android Oreo (Go edition), and packs in a 2,000mAh battery. Color options include Metallic blue, Metallic gold, and Metallic black.

these phones are crap, why not make a an s4 spec type phone.

OMG it is 89 dollar phone, faster than flagship galaxy S2 from 2011, what else do you want for that price? Fingerprint scanner? Metal build? Wake up dude

For Android Go to make sense it needs to be around 50 euro or less. For 90 euro you dont get latest android but you get your 3-4GB RAM with 32GB ROM phones from right to left what ever you like. Even phones that have SD820 on them
