Alcatel has a plan upgrading IDOL X to Android KitKat! See this!

Thank you for contacting Alcatel Onetouch!
We have plan to ugprade IDOL X to Android OS 4.4 which has been under development. As we have many IDOL X shippment to different regions around the world and each shippment will be with different Cu like 6040X-2XCFMK1, 6040X-2XALSI1, etc, we will start to ugprade IDOL X to to higher OS from one Cu to another.So not all IDOL X will be upgraded at the same time. And we can't tell definite day for your device.

So if ur firmware still at the old build#, that's mean ur phone is still not updated yet the firmware to a newer version. The obvious thing if u wanna know it has been upgrade, u'll notice an application called 'durian' but I've disable it coz I found it not useful and kinda annoying...

Hi. Anyone have any news to share about this phone getting android 4.3 or 4.4 upgrade. I sent 2 emails to their support team. First reply saying "sorry, no android upgrade for this phone". Second email answer "there will be android 4.4 upgrade this year. Can someone gives their thought. Thanks..

Notable upgrades were app drawer, camera functions and lousy durian app store which I think it is useless. Now the biggest problem is the battery life has dropped significantly which could not last more than a day!!!!!! I often turn off data and turn it on when needed and could last about 1.5 day and now less than 24hrs! What a shame!
