Thanks for clearing that up Nelson :) .
As for the specs they have been finalized a while ago, the wifi is obviously not included but I did strong suggest to consider it for a future qwerty model like this. Although technically speaking wifi is a luxury feature... like for smartphones, it would indeed make this a KILLER deal, especially with Opera mini already included.
I can only recommend the phone very much, it is a GREAT handset. Estimated price should lie around 100-120$.

I think we should go to Cellatel.com to look at the official specs...the American site had updated their website much faster than the International site

I am even thankful to you and I agree with you. I am just sharing everything I can because I am honestly planning to own this model in all the way I can when it is available in the Philippines. Ifever my post sounds sarcastic here, please forgive me but I don't intend to do it. I am just hoping that this model will be available in our country soon. Thanks buddy.

Hi KR,
Fantastic..could you tell them that it would be even better for them to include wifi (3G is less important im my opinion) in some of their models, like this one. And they don't have to bother with 5MP cameras etc..3 mp would suffice for Alcatel's markets, IMHO.if they do include wifi into this model, it would be a killer product.
By the way, pls ask them where the hell is their Malaysian distributors? haha

Yes I am in conjunction with Tct mobile phones that is why I have early access to these handsets and that is why their new phones are actually getting features that the users would like to see to a certain extent. Because I collect all of the user feedback via email and the questionnaire I did recently on this site asking people to let me know what they would like to see in the new phones. Then I pass all this through to the development team and they evaluate if they can implement these wishes or not.
Nelson? Are you being sarcastic :) ? You almost sounded angry to me? What's up?
The manual you provided on the links does have most information on this phone, but the fact is that the manual which will ship along with the phone is actually being made this week. The phone itself is still being finalized and the last firmware updates will change some minor features in the phone. I know because I am still reporting daily on the phones performance and suggesting improvements. Don't worry it will not be getting WiFi (yet), so no big changes will be made... all I am saying is that the manual might not be totally polished in terms of information and use of English language.
And please people for more detailed questions don't just post them here, but mail me on un112@msn.com.

Why not download the manual to examine it. The manual contains the following:
Safety and use, General information, Your telephone, Getting started, Calls,
Menu arrange, Messages, Instant messaging, Directory, Call register,
Media applications, Internet, Entertainment, Camera, Profiles, File manager,
Bluetooth, Others, Settings, Making the most of your cellphone,
Latin input mode/character table, Telephone warranty, Accessories, & Troubleshooting

The manual on those links is the one submitted by TCT Mobile Limited to Federal Communications Commission together with the unit, accessories, and other docs. It is approved by the FCC so I believe the user guide is so far correct. But if alcatel add some feature like 3G or wifi then the final manual will not be the one I have provided.

Yes, Knight Rider is correct because Alcatel may add some feature to this phone like 3G and wifi and may even change the camera from 2 megapixel to 8 or 12.
But since this is the one submitted by TCT Mobile Limited (together with the unit, its accessories & other docs) to Federal Communications Commission and is approved by the FCC, I believe this user guide is correct.

Hi everybody, I am surprised that the manual is on the internet already. Let me warn you that the user manual you see there is NOT final, I am actually involved with this phone and I know for a fact that the manual is about the be finalized within the next few days. So that copy on those links is not the final version and might have inaccurate information.
It is good to see however that there is already so much response to this phone in the short time that the page has been added. It is really an excellent little phone! I am using it for almost 2 months now and I am in love with it. It is easy to use, comfortable and a great looking phone.
I hope you people will like it too :).

Alcatel OT-800 One Touch Tribe is excellent than OT S853 when it comes to features but OT S853 still number 1 in sound quality.
To those who are planning to own this phone, you must study this phone first by reading its user guide. You can download ALCATEL OT-800 One Touch Tribe manual in these links:

alcatel is really trying to squeeze in that small percent of people who are tired of the usual brands.. making the most of what little they have... they make up with great designs... my only wish is they could at least get into 3g technology. but still alcatel spurns out fab design solutions
