Thanx a lot Brandon. I m Romanian too. I write in English though cause i don't know if it s ok to use other language here and it s not very polite isn't it..u are a BIG help cause I want 2 keep the phone for I have friends in ALL networks so i gotta have 3 phones. I am anxious 2 try this method. I will tell u as soon as possible how it worked..by the way..should it be an ordinary magnet or something more complex? And for how long should i keep the magnet in contact with the phone? ..seconds..minutes..?I have problems with another phone so maybe u know about Germanos..they also provide service..are they any good? TINO: The magnet is perfectly safe... I made sure of it, I had an extreme case of blue screen... it didnt even tun on at all.. it was just blue. So I got frustrated one day and the briliant idea of seeing what a magnet would do to the phone popped into mind... and to my suprise... it started working again... (6 months on) so either I a really lucky or I descovered the "AFRO" engineering way of resolving the problem. Maybe its the phones here(Romania) that have crappy cameras... being that most electronics that didnt make the scrutiny inspection.. get sent off to eastern europe... like all the faulty Nintendo Wiis and Xboxes that burn out after 3 months... (people started boycotting...lol) but hey.. I guarentee you the magnet wont mess with any interior parts... so... good luck... and hope I was a help...

I have an OT-C651 for almost 3 years. It seems that everyone of us have problems with, the now famous, "BLUE SCREEN". At 90 degrees the screen is OK but opened all the way it turns blue. Can someone give a solution and in english please? For example the magnet solution..is it safe? What if it destroys even the rest of the phone...what then? And where did you say we should put it? Directly onto the screen...? The screen has this problem but the VGA camera is super..pictures taken in full resolution are great..the video as well..it s a good phone compared with the price..About the Infrared..the coonection works perfectly with ALL, i repeat, ALL (i have tried believe me) NOKIA phones..however it does not work with SAMSUNG and PHILIPS. I don't know about other brands. It also DOESN'T work with ANY IRDA infrared USB device and you will first have to download photos or videoclips on a NOKIA mobile phone and then put it on your personal computer via an IRDA usb device. Also you can't send SMS or MMS via infrared connection so it's a little frustrating . The battery is excellent..after 3 years of obsessive and intensive usage the battery lasts almost 4 days. I don't think Alcatel is manufacturing these phones..i heared they are chinese made for Alcatel by T&A Mobile, a chinese manufacturer. But the good part of any french manufacturer (Alcatel, Sagem) is that they have the lowest SAR level of cellular radiation on their phones so it compensates. The OT-C651 is like the french cars and even like french people...not so good but different, distinctive and with its own personality. However good parts exceed bed parts..for sure.

This phone has been a head ache at times.
Pros: its a cell phone...
cons: NO DATA PORT!!! totally stupd, screen... cheesey, back scrren distorts image with a diagonal streek across the front, horrible contrast. Camera, very blury and pixely. the Back cover is hard to get off at first but after you get it off a few times it wont stay on!... The screen will randomly turn blue... and sometimes not turn back on for a month.. and the sound dosnt work when that happens either, so even if you photgrafic memory and know everyones number... still useless... but I have found out how to cure the "blue screen" its called a BIG MAGNET just (being that there is a little magnet that works liek a breaker to turn the screen on and off) but if you wave a magnet infront of the the top near the flip hinge it will reset the magnet and wont turn blue anymore.
and for the final CON... its FRENCH.. :p i call it the Alcacatel ot-c651.. not worth it...

please my alcatel OT-C651 phone shows me a blue and blank screen when i open the flip more then half way but shows clearly at about 90 degrees between the flip and the base,also the wap and gprs is not connecting and my local operator which is mtn says i should download it manually.please can you kindly help me out?i will be very greatful if my request is granted.thanks in anticipation of your reply. yours bolaji

I purchased this phone in August 2005; today, the screen display is fading out and a blue screen confronts me when I try to make a phone call. If I close it half way the regular screen re-appears. Makes it quite difficult to handle. Any idea what may have happened? I don't think it is worth to get it repaired, although I did like the phone.

hi everyone any body can help me how to activate the mms and gprs of this unit alcatel c651.i already contacted to smart but they cannot send the configuration coz according to them not supported by gprs.and they say that they call me and send me the configuration but i am not recieving there calls nor txt msgs.thanks

hi, i need help with a little trouble that i have with my alcatel. i just can't open the flip completely, i can open it to the middle and with that i can see the screen, but if i open it completely, the screen gets blue. Before, there was no external screen either, but i tried hitting it and reappeared the external screen

hi guys I'm enjoying using this phone but my poblem is on how to actvate the GPRS and the WAP SERVICE of this phone. Anybody help? I've contact the smart and registered it but this phone has not supported with GPRS
