It is just a simple (but not bad quality) in ear 2 piece headset. If you buy the E805 you can plug in your own profesional headset if you like because that has a "remote" which has a standard 3.5 jack, so any headset will work.

To Knight Rider or to anybody who currently owns this. I just want to know what is the type of headset that goes with the unit. Is it the type used by the disk jockey or the two-earpiece headset as that of OT S853?

ive just bought this phone...it's not that inexpensive here in the philippines tho...2990php tobe exact.but still cheaper that other phones. the phone is too basic n it needs sum gettin used to...keypad's too small...not much effort was put on the interface...music player is ok but the sound is a tinny...u cant use other earphones xcept the ones provided. what i like best about it tho is the design...i got the pure white one nd everybody pass it for an mp3 player n to their surprise its a phone! it's like 'oh u got a new mp3 pla......oh! its a phone...hmmmm...interesting....'

You can connect to a pc using linux. all yoou have to do is to connect your phone with the usb cable to the pc, and to go in the phone menu->settings->usb connection->active.
hope this will help...I'm a linux fan too...

Very good phone at the price... battery good. And it has an mp3 player... i give alcatel a 9 for this phone. The Maximum is not up to 1gb... i tested with a microSD of 2GB from a friend who has Motorla (i don`t know what model ), created a folder named mp3, put some mp3 in that folder.. and the alcatel started the playback of mp3`s.. so it can read 2 gb cards. I am a man who uses a phone , just to call/recive calls form my friends... i`m not using any of the supermultimedia or internet.. i had a 3G phone.. and i was dissapointed because i gave so much money on something i don`t use

i just wanna ask something about this fone, well, i bought a 512 micro SD card recently and added some mp3 in it from the store where i bought it. The sales lady told me what to do when i decided to put some mp3 files again, so in a couple of minute, i did what she told me what to do, insert the usb cable to both computer and fone, go to the setting and and active the usb connection, well it work and i added some mp3 files again in the memory, the problem is, when i finish putting up some mp3 files in it and disconnecting the usb and playing the mp3 player, the files that i added was not their! what happend? what kind of format do i needed? but i'm sure the songs i added were mp3 formatted. Do i need itunes in adding it? Pls. i need an answer..

I have an alcatel E801, my opinions are the batteries only last for 3 or 4 hrs during playtime and the mp3 player option like random play is'nt really random playing it always start on the first parts of the song list. Also you can use up to 1gb memory that i can put up to 900 songs which i converted it to smaller files but... why the player only reads 400 songs max.Im not looking for phones with sofisticated features like cameras or browsers but I hope alcatel will develope upgrades on the unit not limiting it. The mp3 the battery life even at least we can change the wallpapers through computer to phone... its too girlish hehe not for men, at least at the middle of it.

is there a way that I can connect inside the operacional system via usb, like telnet or ssh, or tftp, to exchange mp3 and ringtones?
its unbelieveble that I cant connect through linux systems via usb port.
