Alleged Samsung Galaxy A8s front panel leaks, reveals a notch

Ro, 20 November 2018

Samsung has been avoiding the notch for far too long, but with the announcement of the new Infinity-V and Infinity-U displays, it became clear that this won't be the case moving forward. The latest leak suggests that the recently teased Samsung Galaxy A8s will be the company's first notched smartphone featuring a U-shaped cutout.

The source claims that these panels are designated for the Galaxy A8s and by the looks of it, the notch is quite minimalist. In fact, it appears to be even smaller than the waterdrop notch in today's Oppo and vivo smartphones.

For now, the rumors suggest the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 660 chipset although, there's a possibility that we see a more powerful SD670 or even SD675 paired with 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. The back panel will boast a triple-camera setup - perhaps something similar to the Galaxy A7 (2018).

At first, the phone will most likely be exclusive to the Chinese market. However, nothing is confirmed so we suggest you remain skeptical with early leaks like this one.
