i still use it, in february 2020, briliant phone, and phone for in house only, for wifi hot spot. it works like in first day, after 4 years :D nice huh? but gionee is owned by the romanians from allview, it makes products only for allview. i feel mercy for chinese people...

All in one it is a good looking gadget with a pretty good battery. It is not a breakthrough at all. The lack of some features as the NFC, IR port, heart rate, make it a low budget and a low expectation smartphone. The camera for it's 16 mgpixels is not comprehensive especially in the low light condition.

allwiev (made in ROMANIA) has 115 devices and gionee (made in China) has 59 devices.....who copy who?.. hmm..

It is Gionee S8 with modem and software tailored for Europe and assembled in Brasov (Kronstadt), Romania. All parts are from Gionee Shenzhen - Guangdong, China so it is a rebrand of Gionee S8 and a high class phone with a middle class price (400 €). The main problem is that it is not water resistant but many phones are in the same boat.

It is not a clone,it is same phone,different brand name.
For example OPEL and VAUXHAL....same cars,different brand names.Vauxhal for UK and Opel for ....rest,I think :)
Allview is the name of the assembling company in my country.They impotrt the phones disassembled from China and reassembling here.They allso modify the OS for their logo to apear,etc,etc....

t's not a gionee clone it's the same phone same company, in parts of the world, it has different names so not a clone

There are only so many variations of smart phone shapes.
The Nokia C1 is being slated - before it's even been announced - for looking like an iPhone.
If it's too rounded it's an iPhone clone, too square a Sony clone, somewhere inbetween or with a button on the front a Samsung clone. It's ridiculous.
