I agree

    this is probably the worst device i own. its incredibly slow, the operating system is awful, and everything else about it is equally bad. even back in 2017 i would never have bought it

      Now for the performance issues:
      - Some videos in the Amazon shopping app won't play at all. for videos that works, it lags and runs out of RAM, even for a one-minute clip
      - YouTube works fine though for most videos @720p
      - Subway Surfers start lagging after playing for a while, so 3D games are a no-go.

      There's hardly any internal storage available anyway, about 1.5GB free after a fresh reset.

        Given the outdated and weak processor with low-clocked Cortex-A7 cores, and only 1GB of RAM, the Fire 7 2017 works surprisingly well for simple tasks like surfing and watching videos. Having hands free Alexa built in comes in handy too.

        It's slow but I've seen worse. For example, the Lenovo Tab 3 10 (with SD210, 1+16GB) is significantly slower and some websites won't load at all. This rarely occurs on the Fire 7 tablet.

          So Damn Slow

            Crashes non stop and has awful battery life. These Fire tablets seriously need to be killed off unless the CPUs are upgraded and they add at least 3GB of RAM. Now sitting in my parts bin after a very quick flight across the room.

Ended up getting a iPad mini 2, and that was a giant improvement. I'd rather use my iPod touch 5 than that pile of literal crap.

EVEN MY BLACKBERRY 8330 WAS FASTER, and it shattered after I dropped it 3ft. Plastic was also the weakest shit. The charging port broke after it got thrown on a bed, I'd definitely reccomend an iPad 3 over this, because that 10 year old iPad has at least a good display and a decent app selection, even on iOS 9. My $29 TracFone prepaid LGs with similar specs wipe the floor with the MediaTek in the fire tab, and i swear my 2012 LG Cayman 4G runs better, and that only has 512mb ram.

The tablet has some better specs than the J3 but I know for a FACT that the internal storage is extremely slow. The tablet played Minecraft much better than the J3 but the J3 loaded faster and was more snappy. The Kindle loaded so much slower and does have a higher framerate but even going into things like the main menu in Minecraft are extremely slow on the Kindle Fire.

                                    I have one of these, and I initially thought it was a piece of garbage until I discovered this thread on xda: https://forum.xda-developers.com/amazon-fire/development/unlock-fire-t3899860/

                                    If you're willing to do some work (install Linux and take apart the tablet) you can get this thing running stock android, and it runs pretty well.

                                      amazon is currently selling a refreshed version of this tablet (2019) on their website now. why isn't the new version on gsmarena's website yet?

                                        These are good tablets if you use Launcher Hijack and install the google play store. Especially good if you get it for free
