Amazon Now brings 2-hour delivery for household items to India

Prasad, 04 February, 2016

Amazon has introduced the Amazon Now service in India. The service promises two-hour free delivery for household items, such as groceries, food and beverages, cosmetics, and other essentials.

The service has to be accessed through the dedicated app, currently only available on Android. The app lists all the items across categories. Amazon will then fetch these items from partner stores, such as Big Bazaar, Reliance Fresh, Godrej Nature's Basket, etc. and deliver them to you in minimum of 2-hours if you choose the express delivery option, although you can schedule for a later time as well.

The delivery options are free right now as an introductory offer. You also get 20 percent cashback on orders above INR 250, with maximum cashback of INR 100.

The service is currently only available in Bangalore in certain regions but should be coming to other regions and cities in future.
