After launching the $200 Radeon RX 480, AMD is continuing its assault at the lower-end of the consumer graphics card market. The company announced two new budget graphics cards based on the new Polaris GPU, the Radeon RX 470 and the RX 460. While the 480 is meant for budget VR gaming, the 470 is for 1080p 60fps ultra setting gaming while the 460 is primarily for 1080p 90fps gaming at High settings in e-sports titles.

The RX 470 uses a Polaris 10 GPU based on the GCN 4.0 architecture. It has 32 compute units with 2048 stream processors, down from 36 CU and 2304 SP on the RX 480. It has a base clock speed of 926 MHz and a boost clock speed of 1206 MHz. AMD pegs the floating point performance up to 4.9 TFLOPS, down from 5.8 on the 480.

The 470 also has 4GB 6.6Gbps GDDR5 memory with 256-bit memory interface and 211 GB/s memory bandwidth. TDP is rated at 120W over a 6-pin connector. The card has 3x DisplayPort 1.3 (1.4 ready) and 1x HDMI 2.0, with FreeSync support.

The RX 460 uses a Polaris 11 GPU based on the GCN 4.0 architecture. It has 14 compute units and 896 stream processors. The base clock speed is 1090 MHz and the boost clock speed is 1200 MHz with a floating point performance of up to 2.2 TFLOPS. It comes in 2 or 4GB 7Gbps GDDR5 memory options with 128-bit memory interface and 112 GB/s memory bandwidth. TDP is rated at below 75W. The 460 has 1x DisplayPort 1.3 (1.4 ready), 1x HDMI 2.0 and 1x DL-DVI-I, with FreeSync support.
