Analyst: the Galaxy Note20 and Note20+ will have 120Hz screens, there will be no Ultra

When Ross Young, Founder and CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, isn’t tweeting details about the Galaxy Fold 2, he passes the time by leaking info on Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note20 series. Let’s rip off the band-aid first, there will be no Note20 Ultra.

The Samsung Galaxy Note20+ will be the top model. It will have a fractionally larger display than its predecessor, 6.87”, with essentially the same pixel density (1440p+ resolution). The 120Hz refresh rate will be the major addition this year, made power efficient with the use of a variable refresh rate (it’s not clear how this is different from S20’s auto mode that switches to 60Hz under certain circumstances).

The Galaxy Note20 will have a 6.42” display, again a bit larger than before, and it will keep its 1080p+ resolution. It too will get the 120Hz mode, that won’t be exclusive to the plus model.

The OLED panels will allegedly be built using LTPO tech, which offers 5-15% power savings compared to LTPS panels. It was first seen on the Apple Watch Series 4, but Samsung debuted its own LTPO displays with the Galaxy Watch Active2.

Ice Universe posted a tweet agreeing with Young’s info, which lends it even more credibility.

Couldn't agree more with you both! - The curved edges are HATEFUL WHEN USING THE PEN most of the times. It's a nonsense! The curve makes the pen's trace to "fall" down the edge without propper control if you're writing/drawing in that area. I hat...
