Android 15 update comes with a huge issue for Pixel 6 owners
Google finally started rolling out Android 15 to still supported Pixel devices last week. As is often the case, the rollout hasn't been issue-free. Far from it, in fact. Today a bunch of Pixel 6 owners are reporting a very big problem. The biggest one you can have following an update, in fact.
The Pixel 6 units in question are simply left unusable - bricked, in tech terms. This happens randomly and unexpectedly, it seems, but there may be an explanation - two users on Reddit report that their Pixel 6 devices died after enabling the Private Space feature. However, another user claims their device died during regular use, so it might not be a very cut and dry situation.
What's common to all reports is that the Pixel 6 is completely gone, with none of the typical troubleshooting methods working. Obviously, these are just a few isolated reports, at least so far, so the issue doesn't seem to be very widespread. It's still a very nasty one, however, so if you have a Pixel 6 and haven't updated to Android 15 yet, we recommend you hold off until Google has some kind of resolution.
