Another escapee from MWC 2009 - meet the Samsung S7220

09 Feb, 2009

It seems Samsung are either having a hard time keeping a secret, or they are amidst a clever marketing campaign. The S7220, yet another one of their unannounced mobiles leaked into the wild today. It's a nice mainstream candybar with 5 megapixel camera, OLED screen and GPS support.

Samsung are obviously going to announce a large number of mobile phones at the upcoming MWC 2009. The new mobiles however just can't stop leaking days before the event. The surprise may be ruined, but the hype around Samsung continues to grow.

Now it's Samsung S7220 turn. This mid-range phone packs a 5 megapixel camera, nice 2.4-inch OLED screen, 3G and GPS support (but possibly no Wi-Fi). It has expandable memory via a microSD slot.

As it's clearly visible from the leaked photo the S7220 runs on the latest Samsung feature phone interface so it's not a smartphone, but it's still nicely equipped.

The Samsung S7220 is supposed to be announced at the MWC 2009 next week - we'll update you with more details as soon as the whole thing starts off.

Samsung really need to rebuild their OS. It's outdated and not that easy to use with items buried under several menus.
