Apple announces 'Unleashed' event for October 18
Apple today sent out invites for its next event, which will take place on Monday, October 18. As usual, the invites and announcement makes no mention, direct or vague, regarding the topic of the event.
However, if history is any indication, the 'Unleashed' event, as it is called, will likely be about the company's Mac range of computers. The most anticipated announcement is the unveiling of the next generation of the company's ARM-based M-series processor.

Alongside the new processor, it's likely Apple will be introducing new Mac models. The most likely candidate is a new 16-inch MacBook Pro with the M1 successor, although the idea of an updated Mac mini has also been floating around.
It's also likely we will see at least a sneak peek at the next generation of Mac Pro. After all, Apple did say two years ago that it will be completing its transition to the ARM platform by the end of 2021 and the Mac Pro is the only computer in the company's lineup currently that has no ARM-based variant.
With six days left to go, we will have to wait and see how many of these rumors and theories come to fruition.

This has nothing to do with the choice of the day.

And do you know that Q4 has 3 months in it? Why choose that exact date out of all 90 days available.

It's more likely the opposite. Example: Google pays billions so Apple can keep Google Search as default
