Apple has allegedly cut iPhone 15 production ahead of announcement

Ro, 17 August 2023

Apple is expecting lower sales of its iPhone 15 series compared to the iPhone 14. That forecast coincides with Ming-Chi Kuo's from earlier this month but it's in stark contrast to an earlier report claiming that total iPhone 15 shipments are expected to remain stable.

Apple cuts iPhone 15 production ahead of announcement

The latest analysis comes from analyst Jeff Pu, who believes that Apple's order has been reduced from 83 million to 77 million units by the end of this year due to supply issues and lower-than-usual demand.

The issue with Sony's CMOS camera sensors is once again brought up in this report, along with the new titanium frame for the Pro models and the new display with thinner bezels. All those components seem to be a hurdle.

Additionally, Apple expects fewer sales due to the overall market conditions and the increase in iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max prices.

In that same report, Jeff Pu confirms the 48MP ultrawide camera and Wi-Fi 7 support for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models scheduled for 2024.

Rumors are already making the iPhone 15 look underwhelming? It's like they're trying hard to make me keep my iPhone 13 Pro for another year LOL
