Apple Invites is now official

Vlad, 04 February 2025

Over the weekend a rumor claimed Apple would launch its very own event invite service, and this is now official as Apple Invites. It's a new iPhone app that lets you create custom invites for any occasion. You can create and share invites, RSVP, contribute to Shared Albums, and engage with Apple Music playlists.

Apple Invites is now available from the App Store for all iPhones running iOS 18 or later, and it's also accessible on the web through icloud.com/invites. iCloud+ subscribers can create invites (which anyone can RSVP to) regardless of whether they have an Apple Account or Apple device.

Invites lets you use an image from your photo library or from the app's own gallery of backgrounds for your invite. It's also integrated with Apple Maps and Weather to give guests directions and the forecast for that day.

Each invite comes with its own dedicated Shared Album, which helps you "preserve memories and relive the event", Apple says. You can also make a collaborative Apple Music playlist for your event "to create a curated event soundtrack that guests can access right from Apple Invites".

Apple Intelligence lets you use the Image Playground experience to create original images for your invite, using concepts, descriptions, and people from your photo library. When composing the invite text you can use Writing Tools to "help find just the right turn of phrase to meet the moment".

Guests can RSVP without needing an iCloud+ subscription or an Apple Account. Attendees have control over how their details show up to others and can leave or report an event at any time.
