cadman, 22 Dec 2024For those who ask why the haters and why the pessimistic co... moreThe thing about Apple products is that they don't change prices. The price of the base model iPhone has been the same on every release since 2016 (nearly 10 years). The base iPad got even cheaper because of the Air and Pro lineup.

The stylus support is wrong. I bought a Gen 2 Apple pencil for the 2024 Air and it doesnt support it. This is because of the landscape camera. It can only support the Gen 1 and Pro pencil. Please fix this so other people don't waste their money. But other than that, good iPad.

This for a LCD no refresh rate screen? What's the M2 Chip for if those Display Specs aren't even present. What a waste.

why is there so much negativity about this? here is an ACTUAL review and solely based from my experience using it. kinda biased and defensive but oh well lol
1. BATTERY
- the battery has been good so far. i use the 20%-80% method (because a lot have said it helps in prolonging battery health better, and helps with charge cycles). "fully charged" on 80% and charge it when it gets to 20%, which means i really only get to use 60% of my ipad's battery. i can use it for 7 hours doing mundane tasks. obviously the battery drains faster if its for gaming, based on my battery usage, it lasted 5h 14m, 58% of its battery used on mobile legends. then on another day, it lasted for 7h, 35% netflix and 30% mobile legends. again, i didn't even maximize 100% of its battery, only 60% so imagine how many more hours i can get with the extra 40%. also, i never use it when charging, it takes around 1 hour (take note the 20-80% method)
2. HEATING
- idk cuz i have never experienced it? as i mentioned on #1, i play mobile legends, i also play honkai star rail, both on full high graphics, and i have never experienced heating issues. i also have like 10+ more games, some with crazy high graphics and movements, still, no heating or lagging issues
3. 60hz vs 120hz
- why make such a big deal on this? so what if 120hz is faster, smoother, and overall better. i dont see how this needs to be an issue. if you want a 120hz device, then go for that.

I have to admit that I am disappointed with my iPad Air M2. Battery life is less than expected especially with a Magic Keyboard attached. It also can get uncomfortably warm at times with some apps. In the past I have always bought a base iPad which has always worked out fine. I would probably just buy a base model next time as the added costs for a iPad Air has not been worth it.

For those who ask why the haters and why the pessimistic comments. It is not that Apple products aren´t good or even excellent. It is just that there is no innovation but the price continue to be higher than the competing products. Nothing new or exciting comes for these iPad's releases (heck, even the screen brightness stalled at 500 nits) so the price should tend to diminish as we all know the manufacturing process with time usually gets more efficient, streamlined and cheaper. But Apple products price don´t reflect that despite not bringing anything new to the table.

Everyone talks about 60hz or huge bezels but what nobody is talking about is that this tablet has severe overheating issues. I returned one product, the 2nd one worked for almost 2 weeks and it statyed overheating very bad again. Totally not worth it, waste of money. I will go for Samsung Tab S10+ or Huawei 12X.

Anonymous, 21 Oct 2024How come the dimensions are the same as the previous model,... moreEvery time an Apple product comes out, there are 70 haters criticizing it. Of course, I understand that it's because they can't buy it. Now, why don't they criticize Xiaomi or Huawei? Leave the older ones and those who came first alone, so let the rest learn.

Not a fan of this. 3:2 instead of 4:3
Screen quality is lifeless in my opinion.
Thick bezels.
Battery performance is poor.
Sigh… made the wrong choice.

On the new iPad Air and the iPad Pro, the Apple Pencil 2nd generation can’t be supported because, apple moved their front facing camera to the horizontal position, which made apple relocate the Apple Pencil magnets, so the only Pencil that support this tablet is the new usb c stylus and the Apple Pencil pro.

The title should be 'iPad Air (6th generation)'
