you can't put any sim on it and its only ios5 but i wish ios5 would be upgradable to ios8 in the future cuz i'm getting bored with my ipad 1 it cant download some apps cuz it needs to be ios6 or higher...

ipads have short shelf live because of the closed system. you're basically stuck at ios5. and because ios7 has extremely different apis, many apps don't work anymore
well, it's great for its time, being the first ever viable tablet for the masses
if you don't use synth softwares (like korg electribe), ipad hardware plugins (like recording mixers, barcode scanners), better go for android.
first version galaxy tab can still run many apps!

i bought an ipad1 5.1.1, i tried to download some up but the software dosn't allow me to to that a message pops up "need to update software iOs to 7.1" something i forgot the exact software. when i get back to general settings there's a software update, opened it a message saying
"software iOs is up to date 5.1.1" (grayedout). my question is how can update mi ipad. this is the first time i bought an apple ipad. Help me please...

Have been using this ipad since first launch. I can say that the battery life is still good as 5 years ago. This proves how badly the quality of latest smartphone today :(

Got an ipad 64gb though this ipad is really the oldest one unlike those just released i can say i am 100% satisfied,has big screen and a very large memory that i can upload many games its kinda laggy but my son loves it and even without camera it still ok,we got an iphone.can someone tell me here how to sync my pictures on my iphone 4 8gb to this ipad1?hope someone could help me.i want to see my pictures in large size :-) thanks. Oh anyway i dont like using tablets with cam on public places once using it for taking pictures people behind you or near you can see your big face..LOL.

.for maybe 50$ more you can get perhaps a used ipad2.
