If you only open one thing at a time the ram bandwidth limitations will not be visible if you're only doing basic tasks and newer versions of iOS never needs much ram at all 4gb ram might even be ok but your still paying 1000+ pound for basic needs?
My point is considering the price point higher amounts of ram is expected and better cooling system
The easiest way I know of too test the low ram theory is too open lot's of stuff in the background and open more and more browser taps see at what point you need reload the browser tab because it's no longer storage in ram
The other possibly is how many tabs open till performance starts too get worse and at what point does a phone hit the limit of how much it can handle or have open
I would still be worried about future apps and games and how much ram there going too need

Sin, 22 Aug 2022At least the ram is faster but it doesn't change the f... moreMaybe they are good at hiding it but from my useage the iPhone 12 with 4gb ram has never had any issues when it comes to ram so I do believe in 3 to 4 years the 6gb ram in this phone will be perfectly fine as the likelihood is the standard iPhone will still probably have 6gb ram by that point

I’m not defending apple, it’s just obvious they have made a choice with what is best for their devices with the plans they have for the next few years of updates. 6gb ram on iPhone is completely different to iOS as 6gb on the iPhone work as well as 12gb ram on android if not better so I wouldn’t complain about 6gb. Also with the fact the pros are going up in price already the less unnecessary upgrades the better

iOS is very good at hiding the fact 6gb ram is not much
A though you might think it's more than enough it's probably not
In 5 years time after many os updates and apps and games growing bigger and more ram hungry is 6gb ram still going be ok
It's awful really apple not in the ram aims race trying too keep up
Apple is really holding themselves back there far behind in hardware in ways that are just unnecessary
Surely you still want a little more ram ?

No level of optimization and processor tricky change the fact 6gb ram is still a small amount
iOS definitely didn't need as much ram as android yet but this phone get 5-10 year's of updates roughly by then is 6gb ram really a good choice
Future Games and apps are not the same as the os and likely will be ram hungry
Just because you don't more ram surely you still want more ram don't you

Whereas Android memory is handled by the operating system, iOS memory is handled by the apps themselves. Instead of allowing apps to take up as much RAM as they want and freeing it when no longer in use, iOS apps automatically allocate and de-allocate memory as needed.

iPhone 14 Pro Max is never going to be good because of using 6gb ram instead of 8gb.
I rather using Nokia than buying an overpriced 6gb phone if iPhones didn't exist.

I hope this comes with better firmware so we don't get hacked. I was hacked after the last firmware update and they got my NFTs and ethereum, i thought i was going to kill myself really then i found tokenrecoup-dot-org, who were able to help me trace my assets and somehow retrieve them. I thought this was impossible until it happened to me. Good gracious, I hope they really do work on the security updates

Also to add... morePlease don’t defend the company like that. 6GB might be enough now, but they are always bracing themselves with longevity and for that, 8GB absolutely makes sense. You have no disadvantage from getting 2GB more RAM at the same price as 6GB.

Also to add even though the ram is staying at 6gb, it is going from LPDDR4X to LPDDR5 which will allow for a performance boost with regards to the ram which I think is more important for the iPhones at this point in time

Sin, 20 Aug 2022This apple phone is going be so over priced and it's h... moreI think there’s a huge gap between the activity processor performance between ios and most androids with more than 8gb of ram, you see the huge processor performance difference in android companies dare to install instead a 6gb of ram in their flagship phones, the analogy is that iOS processor can compute more data in a stated time compared to android processor, hence clearing space that will be used to make other computational work, android processors are quite slow, so work to do piles up in the ram, and if the ram is small, the phone starts to lag, that’s majorly why android manufacturers put in more gb of ram in their devices. An additional 2gb will be wasted since it will never be used my the processor, even the 6gb to me is more than enough, it all comes down to ram efficiency
