2GB on iOS is equal to 4GB on Pixel or 6GB on MIUI, it's not about the RAM itself, but the performance. Based on my experience trying to test running more than 10 apps and games on iPhone 6s (2015), Pixel 2 XL (2017) and Xiaomi 9 SE (2019) 2 years ago. 6GB on iPhone 14 Pro? We'll see if the Pixel 7 will be able to beat the performance of the iPhone 14 Pro.

Ram management is better on iOS there no debate here
But they could of easily put 8gb ram in iPhone 14 pro max
And should of is the point am trying too make
Android very heavy and ram hungry os and all apps on android run in background using ram
But today's best Android are not made by Samsung Xiaomi or Google there made by Lenovo and Nubia
The Lenovo legion gaming phones have SSD drive in them in raid and 18gb ram and built-in fans
Flagship Snapdragon processor
The Nubia red magic also has 18gb ram built-in fans even 165hz screen flagship Snapdragon processor
Personally I wish they put 24gb ram in the gaming phones as max ram support for Snapdragon 8 gen 1 is 24gb ram
I don't think iPhone age that we'll look at
Samsung s5 Vs iPhone 6
Both had crap os support neither is still supported :(
However android 6 is still fully functional and usable today and 2gb ram adds good enough usability with apps and games today
Idk about old iOS versions but was told games just said no longer supported on iOS device and very sad 1gb ram that's not enough for apps and games even if u do get them to run somehow it won't be a good experience
Battery well iPhone 6 is dead or very poor battery health none removable battery
S5 would have had battery charge had removable battery
Storage iPhone 6 does have 128gb modal
Samsung s5 32gb plus SD card slot I call this a draw
I done my research
I think the person who buy the android would still be able use there s5 today it be slow yes but android 6 is still compatible with nearly all android apps only missing out on very heavy games of today made by developers who don't optimize there games for old phones but iPhone 6 user will be suffering on iPhone 6 a lot and it's only going get a lot worse plus the awful battery life problem

Sin, 22 Aug 2022About ram usage If you only open one thing at a time th... moreLol, most Android users here are complaining about the RAM size, well Apple knows how to properly optimize the OS and how to support the device with super fast Nvme storage(unlike the crappy UFS in Android). Also no worries boys, the 14 Pro Max will be a good device even after 5 years, while that can’t be said for most Samsung or Xiaomis out there

If you only open one thing at a time the ram bandwidth limitations will not be visible if you're only doing basic tasks and newer versions of iOS never needs much ram at all 4gb ram might even be ok but your still paying 1000+ pound for basic needs?
My point is considering the price point higher amounts of ram is expected and better cooling system
The easiest way I know of too test the low ram theory is too open lot's of stuff in the background and open more and more browser taps see at what point you need reload the browser tab because it's no longer storage in ram
The other possibly is how many tabs open till performance starts too get worse and at what point does a phone hit the limit of how much it can handle or have open
I would still be worried about future apps and games and how much ram there going too need

Sin, 22 Aug 2022At least the ram is faster but it doesn't change the f... moreMaybe they are good at hiding it but from my useage the iPhone 12 with 4gb ram has never had any issues when it comes to ram so I do believe in 3 to 4 years the 6gb ram in this phone will be perfectly fine as the likelihood is the standard iPhone will still probably have 6gb ram by that point

I’m not defending apple, it’s just obvious they have made a choice with what is best for their devices with the plans they have for the next few years of updates. 6gb ram on iPhone is completely different to iOS as 6gb on the iPhone work as well as 12gb ram on android if not better so I wouldn’t complain about 6gb. Also with the fact the pros are going up in price already the less unnecessary upgrades the better

iOS is very good at hiding the fact 6gb ram is not much
A though you might think it's more than enough it's probably not
In 5 years time after many os updates and apps and games growing bigger and more ram hungry is 6gb ram still going be ok
It's awful really apple not in the ram aims race trying too keep up
Apple is really holding themselves back there far behind in hardware in ways that are just unnecessary
Surely you still want a little more ram ?

No level of optimization and processor tricky change the fact 6gb ram is still a small amount
iOS definitely didn't need as much ram as android yet but this phone get 5-10 year's of updates roughly by then is 6gb ram really a good choice
Future Games and apps are not the same as the os and likely will be ram hungry
Just because you don't more ram surely you still want more ram don't you

Whereas Android memory is handled by the operating system, iOS memory is handled by the apps themselves. Instead of allowing apps to take up as much RAM as they want and freeing it when no longer in use, iOS apps automatically allocate and de-allocate memory as needed.

iPhone 14 Pro Max is never going to be good because of using 6gb ram instead of 8gb.
I rather using Nokia than buying an overpriced 6gb phone if iPhones didn't exist.
