The truth is, when you switch to 120Hz, it is hard to get back.
apple could have made 120hz variable rate probably at no cost. Quite sure it's a marketing trick, pushing to buy the pro version and put 120hz next year in ip16.
also battery for life of smaller iphones 15, if variable rate is not managed correctly, battery could drops say 20% more at a full blast fixed 120hz. so they can say we have awesome battery life, sacrifying a modern feature for that.
apple will be apple forever, that's why I like, but I have never ever bought :)

you are simply ignorant or dismissive about "average user"
an "average" user is a human being who expect to be respected and getting decent services
120Hz refresh rate makes smartphone smooth and easy on the eyes, so along with SoC it is one of the most important features people pay attention to. even cheap phones, like Realme 11x or Moto G62 have 120Hz refresh rate. no amount of justification will save Apple here.

I have to agree that it is somewhat snarky by Apple to not include it, but trust me, daily drive the 15 and you will genuinely not notice that the panel is 60 hertz, because as I said earlier iOS is so extremely fluid.
The panel displays colours incredibly well, and I'm very happy with it. A higher refresh rate would've been a nice bonus though however.

Rest in peace Midnight and starlight, you won’t be missed. What is missed though, is a proper white/silver option. I guess the blue will have to take that role this time around.
