So much money for the “basic” phone. One must be crazy willing to spend this money on a basic phone. Not even to mention the 512GB version, just wow.

Those are such potato specs for that price tag, but then again the average apple consoomer does not mind being ripped off.

€700 and it's supposed to be the "affordable" iPhone? Good joke, Apple.

Big LOL at everyone who thought it would start at $499. Did you really think Apple would upgrade the chip and RAM in exchange for the ultrawide camera AND lower the price? They don’t want the cheapest iPhone to be the best deal. They want the most expensive iPhone to be the best deal. That’s how the pricing ladder works.
Also they removed MagSafe, ultrawideband, sensor shift image stabilization with action mode and cinematic mode. All of those things you get back when choosing the $100 more iPhone 15. But for $100 more you get the latest A18 with 8GB and Apple intelligence again. And so on. Only upside of this: claimed longer battery life.
Only thing I wonder is whether in the fall, they will drop the iPhone 15 by $100, which means they would have to drop the 16e by $100 as well. Or if they discontinue the iPhone 15 entirely without changing the price of the 16e, making the incentive to spend more even bigger. From that perspective, discontinuing the 15 makes more sense.

Anonymous, 17 Feb 2025What you use curiosity? 24 Ultra. Also an 8' shytbrand tab from time to time.
I was fussy in me need of a small phone, I realize that a bigger screen is far more readable, productive, and enjoyable. A Little discomfort carrying it around, that's about it .
Anyway that iPhone SE 4 seems to have all Apple's bell and whistle, just in an older case. Just too small and iOS for me, no way. I Tried many times iOS and ipados, and i've always returned. I've Never liked apple anyway , since apple iie, I'm biased.

If this phone cheap (based off sources saying it's budget), like around $200-$400, I'd buy it for gaming cause I can't find any good phones with CPU's nearing 2,000,000 antutu score

RantProMax, 17 Feb 2025And how much is this expected to cost? Will be ridiculous i... moreThe rumors I've heard place it around $500, maybe a little more. The SE models are meant to be Apple's budget phones. The idea is that they save money on engineering by taking the latest processor and put it in an older form factor with fewer hardware features (such as only one back camera). Granted, this time may be different, since we're expecting it to be a lot closer to recent flagship iPhones in terms of features (FaceID, notch, 6" OLED screen, 48 MP camera).
Still, since European regulations, Apple needs a budget iPhone with a USB-C port, and we're expecting this to be it.

And how much is this expected to cost? Will be ridiculous if it comes in the range of upper flagship-like Android phones.
