1.Anybody who wants to save some bucks and want better battery life go for the 16 plus
2.If you care about the faster Pro motion display,the center staged camera and slightly faster charging,go for the base 17
Overall both phones will be receiving software support for quite a while so you shouldn't worry about that.Personally I would prefer getting the 17 over 16 plus just because of the higher refresh rate display

Ever heard for saying "when you trying to compare Android phone with Iphone that's like comparing apples with oranges". What does that means though?
People that are interested in this phone are mostly wanting an phone with iOS and this one has the best value out of all 17 series iPhones. Sure, you can buy 5 capable phones instead of this one, but they are Android phones. Some people got used to some apps and features that only iOS offers. For them, there is no other choice is it?

Bringing little upgrades every year is actually a smart move but we want a silicon carbon battery, faster charging and massive camera upgrades because other phones have them but look around, iphone is not like any other phone. They think diffrently, act diffrently and they don't mind being critisized. Look at the dynamic island, it is been critisized for taking up screen real estate when no other phone would have thought of it even in 2025 instead they copied it and fixed it in the punch hole camera. The only reason people are buying this phone is because iphone is a luxury experience.

I don’t understand but that’s a fact.
That’s what branding is. maybe tech is no more tech but just branding like fashion. You buy an expensive outfit a hundred times more expensive while ten time more made of kraaap and you are happy for some reason. I won’t fall that trap myself.

Great phone, better value than the previous base models. You can tell this phone is gonna sell pretty well this year by the amount of salty comments, people just don’t like it

Worse than last year
Battery maybe because iOS 26 ´vistagate’
Selfie what’s really the point. Camera I can’t see difference if not worse because too much sharpening.
Seem they don’t know what to do to try to make it new
So they make it worse to make it new.
Next year ip18 bubble gum color. Rotate camera 45 degree make it thicker and put compiz compositor from 90’s to drain 10% more battery and bingo. Here’s new iPhone sell like butter increase price say it’s blabla levies or something. Tech for the masses.
