Apple iPhone 2009 comes on 17 July, OLED display on board
We’ve heard lots of stuff about the next-gen Apple iPhone, but here's a rundown of all the latest rumors. The 17 July announcement of the iPhone 2009 is pretty much clear by now but there are some new juicy bits and pieces.
One of the new rumors states that the iPhone 2009 will use an OLED display instead of the current industry leading unit. As of yet, we haven't seen an AMOLED display to match the iPhone display, but who knows we might be surprised. One thing's for sure, AMOLED displays are more energy efficient than standard LCD units, so that seems like a nice move to bump up the appalling battery life of the iPhone 3G.
As rumors have it the Apple logo on the back of the iPhone 2009 will glow much like the ones on Apple laptops. Well if not for anything else, at least it sounds extra cool.
The new iPhone will also probably get rid of the metallic frame around the display and will feature a 3.2 MP AF camera with video recording, will be able to send image/video MMS, and will have double the RAM and increased processing power.
Previous rumors also state that there will be rubber back surface, generally smoother design and nice features as built-in compass.
Finally, the new iPhone will come in at least two versions - 16GB and 32GB ones. All this stuff sounds quite promising, so we are eager to hear more about it from the Cupertino team.

It's rumoured that the glowing logo might double up as a flash for the camera. Only a rumour though. 3 hours until we get to find out!
