I can't imagine a phone without always on display functionality. It's extremely useful for me to be aware of the events in the phone without even touching it. That is really useful innovation, much useful that those curved screens, reversible USB, etc.

Typical Apple fanboys.. blinded by Apple. Until Apple release "the next big thing".. Then their eyes suddenly opened!
There are of course some hardheaded ones. Who REFUSE to move, even when Apple already move on.
These are not typical Apple users. Normal Apple users critics Apple product, suggesting ways for Apple to make better and better stuff. They are creative and knows how to workaround Apple's restrictions.
But THESE fanboys (they pollute the Apple discussion forums also), just drone on about HOW great Apple is, NOTHING need to change.. All those that want change.. will get a big insult from them.

You are wrong, i would be perfectly fine to buy iPhone 8 if it would have had dual cam (that's really only thing what i wanted). bezel less design isn't in my want list, i would be perfectly fine with iPhone 8 with dual cam.
There isn't anything in android world which im jealous. or i would have to have over what i have with iPhone and iOS.

iPhone 8 & X: 2160p@60fps and 1080p@240fps !!!! I rest my case. Bye bye Android until Samsung Note 10 or Huawei Mate 12 will can do that in 2019 :))))

GREAT PHONE but....look what happened with mine !
I have this Iphone X for 6 months now, i received it from Apple to test it... but now the phone is bricked....what should i do ? send it to warranty ?

i wouldn't call it copying, it's natural progression, everyone has more or less same ideas how the phones can improve, and when Apple release their phone end of the year, very likely someone have done it earlier. Also there's not much to do with these phones anymore, more or less everything done already.

i think the faceID unlocking little bit slower than fingerPrint scanner..
..back where the fingerPrint scanner would have been better.

Apple had real innovations when Steve Jobs was here on which Apple still survive.

Some disappointments.
1. 2 hand phone for most people... Lose reachability feature. (Sure its thinner like the 4.7 incher, but control center and stuff is moved to the top.. making 2 hands operation required)
2. Couldn't get touchID embedded in time.
3. No 512gb version.
4. Much much thicker then expected.

The iphone x is gorgeuos , and this face detection lock if hacked the phone will lose security cause it doesn't have fingerprint scanner , other things which could make this phone not a proper choice is that people have been using iphones which was built though in hard coop, could this ion strengthened glass outstand crack issues, lastly the camera of iphone x has a larger sensor than the iphone 8 plus which is 1/3" then if it isn't big enough to compete with note 8 which is 1/2.5" then this device will not be loved by people.

it's effectively a downgrade, workspace has nothing against geometry. An asymmetric shape is not necessarily better than pure rectangle, rectangle are so good they are even better than circles.

they are calling it the 10' so X²! iPhone 8 Vs Note 8! fingervain scanners are better than RISK(microcontroller/ARM64) based Face detection but fingerprint was even better as it's also useful as proximity/luminance sensor. so iPhone 8/ Vs iPhone 7 is better (both have 16nm Processing).
metals are better than plastic but not necessarily in case of PCB mounted products, Note8 can do all the things an iPhone can do except probably only withstanding high boiling temperature operating.
it's a software upgrade platform, I ll rather enjoy seeing it around than using it.
