I am just really wondering how facial recognition will work in Arab countries for veil covered woman...sometimes only eyes are available... it is a big market for Apple. I hope Apple thought about this...

In my iPhone 6 when I double tap the home button, it brings the screen down so I can reach the area in the upper part with one hand. I think this feature is missing in iPhone X. This is so bad specially it has a bigger screen now and working with one hand with it will be impossible without this feature. If they can make it done by double tap the lock button or squeeze the phone sides it will be great. Hope so.

lol, they call it bezel less, yet note 8 and s8 plus have better screen-to-body ratio
and those side bezels are just ugly

Sindroid, 12 Sep 2017Facial recognition on my S8+ is horrible.. Takes too long t... moreReasonably, yes, as it has dedicated hardware for capturing and analyzing the 3D map. It will fail at times, especially with limited training, but I get my passcode wrong at times too.
As for passing out drunk, in your other post, while TouchID admits anyone putting your finger on the sensor, FaceID requires a somewhat steady gaze, so it shouldn't be a problem.

To be honest, all Apple is good at doing is over-selling. Making such a little feature which was introduced into the industry a long time ago seem like such a big new revolution only available at Apple. Examples: Wireless Charging (S8), Facial Recognition (S8), OLED Display (Do I even need to go on?) They should have at least embedded the Touch ID in the Apple logo at the back or into the power button on the side.

size wise it's nothing but a weirdly taller iPhone 8 with a more weird display design, don't be fooled, iPhone X has less display area than iPhone 8 Plus. Apple became funnier year after year. Once I had a dream of buying an iPhone but I didn't have that much money. now, I have money but don't want to waste my money after these holly craps. I don't want to buy a 5.5" display phone with a 6" capable body, a huge camera hump on the back, and a heavy bulky iPhone 7/8 plus. RIP Apple

And are there any innovations there... Apple? That's not an "All Screen Smartphone". What are those huge bezels doing all around? Besides, the biometric authentication would be awful; chances are the "bad guy" uses a footage of the user's face to unlock the device, or a person's twin sibling can access their device easily. I'm not going to pay 999 bucks for this gimmicky thing.

The big selling point of this phone is that you can perhaps safe a funny face as Face ID. Makes it fun to buy it. The AR is most likely still under developed. So basically only the screen remains as a reason as affordable luxury for die hard Apple fans.
