Apple’s homepage gets (RED) makeover, proceeds go to COVID-19 relief through June 2021
On Tuesday, Apple made its home page positively RED. In its latest efforts to promote its newest change to its Product (RED) lineup of products, Apple is announcing that proceeds of (RED) devices and accessories will be redirected to the “Global Fund’s COVID-19 Response.
Starting now through June 30, 100% of “eligible proceeds” from (RED) products will go to this Global Fund. Here’s how Apple explained it on its website.
For 14 years, our partnership with (RED) has led to almost $250 million in donations to fund HIV/AIDS treatment programs. Now through June 30, Apple is working with (RED) to redirect 100 precent of eligible proceeds from (PRODCUT)RED purchased to the Global Fund’s COVID-19 Response. This will provide critical support to health systems most threatened by the outbreak and, in turn, help preserve lifesaving HIV/AIDS programs in sub-Saharan Africa.
In light of the announcement, Apple’s homepage features its Product(RED) devices including the iPhone 12, 12 mini, 11, XR, and iPhone SE (2020). It also features (RED) iPhone 12/12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max leather cases, along with the Apple Watch Series 6, various Loops, and Beats devices.
