Hi
I bought this phone in September and since then I have been using this though i had to send it to service center because of touch screen issue however since I installed winmo 6.5 on it its been working fine in terms of performance.
I wont say that it is the best phone in its segment but then its kind of ok ok.
and yes the battery drains so fast but then that's a normal thing with all the windows phones running WVGA resolution.

this is worst worst worst phone on earth. please don't waste money in buying it. i bought for 23k and ready to sell at cheaper price.

Hi,
I'm planning to buy an ASUS P835 in India. I am really looking for user opinions / experiences especially on the touch-screen part. I have read a lot of horror stories in the internet over various forums, on how the p835 Touch screen failed completely & stuff.
Is this problem rectified? I really like & appreciate most of this phone's features (especially the WiFi sharing), but if it crashes completely, its of no use.

I want this phone so bad but I keep reading these horror stories, and when I called Asus tech department to try and pick their brains on the matter they told me I had to call Taiwan! I'm in the USA. They said they dont handle the P835 at all. I'm thinking i better pass on this one.

Touch screen failed completely on 21Aug2009. Sent to service center and got it back on 8Sep2009. Then on 14Sep2009, my P835 went completely dead, no power.

After all the default stuff that Asus has put on this phone the actual main storage left is 30 Mb and actual available RAM is 90 Mb. I find the main storage too low as many apps needs to go into windows folder. This needs to be improved. It will help if Asus can make all the stuff like its today screen optional and installable as CABs for later. Will make the ROM lighter too.

Anonymous, 03 Sep 200924 K in IndiaMMI works with ASUS P835 you need to edit ordinel.ini to let the software know which gps driver to use bit tricky I wasted 5 days finding this out check ppcwarez forum for this i posted the correct settings there

Was this phone only released in India so far? Normaly I import to the US from Hong Kong, but I am not having much luck finding "reputable" online sellers. The 2 retailers listed here say they are not in stock and they do not know when or if they will be in. I'm not even sure they ever actually had them. I'm also not sure if the few I am finding are knockoffs or the real deal. Can anyone tell me where I can purchase one safely!?

cha, 01 Aug 2009Buy from map my India. Great GPS software for this phone. I do not think MMI works with p835. I installed it and it wouldnt detect the gps receiver. Garmin and POLNAV works on mine for now.
