No, it is a dualcore qualcom snapdragon s4 processor with two cortex a15 cores at 1.5 gigahertz

Hey, guys!
Personally, I think that padfone is a step forward not just for asus but for the entire industry and I am seriously considering buying one for myself. I spent a little time thinking bout the cpu on this unit, should they instal tegra 3 or not but i don't really think of it now as an issue, not yet. I think that the next step from here would be mounting the dock on the new keyboard (the one that the new prime has or better) so it has access to the features that it provides and maybe in the future we'll see a next generation of padfone with grid processing so you can really say that you have combined a pad and a phone :D

That's really great thought and design and it will be the greatest if the pad is universal one that all kind of phones with all kinds of OS (Android, iOS or WP) can be put in.

you have to grow once again maybe 80 years old to stay calm and clear other people views. see you after 40 years XD

Their Laptops, notebooks, netbooks and LCDs are amognst the best in industry..
This padfone is one logical step forward..
You must be some child who recently changed couple of smartphones and now thinks he has all knowledge inthe world...

To be honest i have never heard of Asus until they produced this Padfone & other Tabs,
i am deciding to get one as it hits the stores.
But only if they put these in that:
Chipset: Nvidia Tegra 3 T33
CPU: Quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A9
GPU: ULP GeForce.
if they do that you will see Padfone in everyones hands.

If you need separate tablet and phone this is not for you. HOWEVER, this does come with a special "pen" with which you can pick up calls when the phone is docked on the tablet, so you don't have to worry about undocking it when there is a call. Seems like Asus changed from Tegra3 to S4 pretty recently. Since they were the first to bring a Tegra3 tablet to the market, they must have had good reasons for this. Perhaps battery usage?
@Asim: your dreams are 5x bigger then reality. Please substantiate your claims about Tegra 6

padhone is the gamechanger in convergence of mobiles,tablets & laptops. Now you will see the market flooded with dry(dataless) tablets which can be docked to any phone & keyboard.

scorpion processors are outdated tech..... asus should've used krait processors to compete head on with tegra 3 chipset
