Heard it's be selling at S399 when launching, I guess this is the most affordable phone can be found in the market with Snapdragon 801 and FUll HD screen.

The only difference I can find with this device is the chipset itself.
its a tad bit better, but from what I heard from the Padfone X it can short circut itself and fry its modem.
Now I hope this does not have such a problem and it looks like there isn't for this model.

PadFone S will be released in Malaysia but the date and price still not yet determined. Asus Fone is innovation but the quality for the first batch is usually problematic. My word of advice: buy it a few months after released.

I've had mine for a couple of weeks now. AT&T is the provider. Cost for the phone and tablet was, indeed, $199. You can also purchase it for prepaid use for $549.
So far, excellent. The only issue I had was when I would insert the phone into the tablet with the swipe to unlock feature on, it would freak out and require I reboot. Turn off the swipe to unlock...no problems (although I do, now, accidentally pocket dial people from time to time). This is likely a simple software fix I hope to see from Asus soon.
Call quality is excellent. The phone is extremely fast. Even the tablet is very fast with the phone inserted (its a dumb screen without the phone). Screen quality is outstanding. Best of all my devices (which includes iPad rentia and Asus Nexus 7 2nd gen). I'll likely sell these off now.
Camera quality is also excellent. The software is easy to use and captures great pictures and video. The ability to shoot up to 100 pictures, very rapidly, is a blast.
Good battery life (not crazy good though...I have not problem getting through the day, but you'll definitely need to charge up every night).
I've been waiting for this form factor for years and this is it. The only thing I would change is to make the tablet screen bigger (its still good at 9 inches) and make it thinner with the phone inserted (I know...that's a tough one...betcha they get there in a few years though).
I give it an 8.5 - 9 out of 10.

Is it going to be $199USD? What about Malaysia? Probably the price is not gonna be the same.
Does it work smoothly?
Please people, tell me. Is it even gonna be available here in Malaysia, knowing that it's AT&T?
And if it will be, will the price be the same? What would it be, then? Where can I get it from?

Very clever choice, but if it has the same battery life as padfone infinity, lets go for something else...every 2-3 hours it needs charging !!!

Does the Padfone S have the same LTE chip and cellular bands as the Padfone X? Will the Padfone S work in the US on AT&T?
It really needs 3GB of RAM and at least 32GB of storage (the SD Card is mostly worthless with the changes in KitKat), but I think I could live with the Padfone S since it doesn't have all the bloatware that AT&T adds to the system!
