ASUS PadFone X goes global as PadFone S, MeMO Pad 7 debuts
ASUS has shown a lot of devices over at Computex, many of which we've known all about since as early as CES in January. The company is showing its PadFone X smartphone with a portable tablet but is also promising the device to launch across the globe in the form of the PadFone S.
The ASUS PadFone S will be the same 5" 1080p smartphone that slides in a PadFone Station with 8.9" 1080p display and an additional 4,990 mAh battery to compliment the smartphone's built-in 2,330 mAh juice pack.
The Asus PadFone S will be powered by a Snapdragon 800 with a quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 processor and the Adreno 330 GPU. There's a 13 MP camera attached as well.
The PadFone S will launch in select markets as early as Q3 this year, while the AT&T-exclusive PadFone X is due June 6.
In other news ASUS also launched the MeMO Pad 7. It has a 1200 x 800 IPS display, 5 MP and 2 MP cameras (back and front) and is coming in myriad of colors mid-June.
