Why did they discontinued the Max Pro series? It was good! I'm still using mine for 5 years now. It is so durable with Gorilla Glass 6 protection, my phone still scratchless over the years. I hope they release a midrange ROG or Zenfone.

There's things to like here, but if you're gaming with the touchscreen the lack of bezel will be a problem. There's not that many upsides to gaming phones in general due to more efficient silicon and widespread 120hz support (the difference between 120hz and 165hz isn't big, even if your game supports more than 30 fps) and this loses the bezels that made it better than most for using touchscreen controls (less vertical height makes it better for using a controller, but not everyone wants to do that and you still lose the front speakers + no punch hole).
Also renders haven't shown the headphone port, which is a bit concerning (though at least it should have 2 USB-C ports, so it's not as bad as it could be) and the smaller battery is also not great given it still really isn't light (the Redmagic 9 Pro has 6500 and a literal fan, so there's not really an excuse). Clearly they're betting on the LTPO making up for it, or maybe if I'm being charitable they needed somewhere for the new camera system.
At least we can take a pretty good guess what the Zenfone 11 Ultra will look like now.

Gaming phone with notch? Hell nah! The only reason i choose gaming phone is because they still have jack and no notch. My only choices are just sony and redmagic now ;-;

101dude, 15 Dec 2023All those features aren't important to gamers I mean it's all about balancing, If you're offering a 32 MP 3x telephoto, which is pretty flagship-y stuff, but not OIS, you can question If that's worth it, and a lot of the time it can be explained by marketing, OIS just doesn't stick out in a specsheet, even for more tech-savy people. When I tried to Test the OIS on my new Redmi Note 11+ I found out it doesn't actually have that, the Redmi Note 12 Pro which was my alternative has it, which I should've considered. It probably wouldn't have changed my decision, but you get the point.
