Anonymous, 20 Jan 2025What a waste of resources and money, why only 2 OS updates ... moreWhy do y'all act like a phone will implode and stop functioning if it doesn't have the latest update???
This is a gaming phone and I'm sure even if it's software is 5yrs behind it will still be able to run all the latest games at that time. That's the beauty of Android. Even phones that are stuck on Android 10 right now can still function completely normal and run all necessary apps as long as the processor is strong enough to run it.
If you're security cautious and want all the latest updates go buy something else. Gosh...

THE MIGHTIEST TAIWANESE LION GRADUALLY LOSING ITS ROAR, AGILITY, AND STAMINA
The Decline of ASUS ROG Phones: A Fading Legacy.
ASUS' Republic of Gamers (ROG) phones once stood as a proud Taiwanese Lion in the smartphone world, roaring above its competition with unparalleled gaming performance, stunning AMOLED screens, powerful battery life, and immersive audio. Gamers and tech enthusiasts alike revered these devices as the ultimate gaming companions, delivering unmatched experiences.
But over time, cracks have started to appear. The lion's once-powerful roar has softened, its agility is fading, and the hallmark features that defined it are being overshadowed by compromises. Has the mighty ROG series begun to lose its way?

Battery Performance: Losing the Stamina That Defined It.
Battery life was always the backbone of the ROG Phone’s dominance. Devices like the ROG Phone 2 and its successors boasted 6000mAh batteries—a benchmark for gaming endurance. These phones empowered gamers to play for hours without worrying about charging, reinforcing their position as the go-to choice for marathon sessions.
However, in recent iterations, while the battery specs still look impressive on paper, real-world performance has declined. Increasingly demanding hardware and suboptimal software tuning have eroded the actual usability of these batteries. Where once gamers could game freely without fear, they now find themselves tethered to power banks and outlets sooner than they’d expect.

Speaker Quality: From a Roar to a Whisper
The front-facing stereo speakers of the ROG series were iconic. Delivering rich, booming sound, they made every gaming session, movie, or song come alive. Positioned perfectly to avoid being muffled, they were the best in the industry, earning ASUS a reputation for redefining audio on mobile devices.
From the ROG Phone 2 through 7, these speakers became the heartbeat of the gaming experience. They weren’t just loud; they were crisp, balanced, and immersive—a true gaming trademark.
Yet, recent designs have dulled this once-dominant feature. The speakers now feel weaker, less refined, and compromised—likely a trade-off for slimmer designs and attempts to improve other areas like cameras. But by chasing trends set by brands like Samsung and Apple, ASUS risks losing its unique identity: audio prowess and immersive gaming experiences that set it apart.

                                        Why This Decline Matters
For gamers, battery life and audio quality aren’t luxuries—they’re essentials. These two pillars are fundamental to the immersive experiences they demand. ASUS built its brand on delivering these essentials better than anyone else, and any compromise here could alienate its most loyal audience.
With competitors like Lenovo Legion and Red Magic sharpening their claws, the ROG Phone series faces a real risk of losing its foothold in a market it once dominated.

The Road Ahead: Rekindling the Lion’s Roar
To reclaim its throne, ASUS must double down on the features that made the ROG series iconic: performance, endurance, and immersive experiences.
                                        1. Restore Battery Brilliance: Gamers need more than raw capacity—they need optimized performance. ASUS must refine its hardware-software synergy to ensure legendary endurance returns.
                                        2. Bring Back the Roar: The front-facing stereo speakers must return to their original glory. Loud, immersive, and perfectly tuned audio is a cornerstone of the ROG experience, and ASUS cannot afford to let it slip further.
                                        3. Stick to Gaming Roots: Instead of chasing flagship trends, ASUS should focus on what it does best: gaming. Raw power, advanced cooling, and intuitive software are what separate the ROG Phone from the crowd.

                                        A Commendation: Recognizing the Legacy
Despite its struggles, the ASUS ROG series deserves praise for reshaping the gaming smartphone industry. It wasn’t just a product; it was a revolution in mobile gaming.
                                        1. RGB Notification Lights: ASUS brought a touch of personality to its devices, merging style with functionality.
                                        2. The 3.5mm Audio Jack: A rarity in modern phones, ASUS maintained this essential feature, keeping gamers and audiophiles satisfied.
                                        3. Front-Facing Stereo Speakers: A defining feature that made the ROG Phone an audio powerhouse.
                                        4. AeroActive Cooler with Subwoofer: Innovation at its finest—cooling the phone while enhancing the audio experience with deep bass.
                                        5. Raw Power and Performance: Year after year, the ROG series delivered cutting-edge hardware and software optimized for gaming excellence.

Final Thoughts: The Taiwanese Lion Must Roar Again
The ASUS ROG Phone series is more than a product; it’s a symbol of excellence. It represents a commitment to gamers, to innovation, and to dominating the gaming smartphone market. But now, that symbol stands at a crossroads.
Will ASUS bring back the lion’s roar, or will it fade into mediocrity, chasing trends instead of embracing its strengths? Gamers are watching, hoping for the lion’s triumphant return.
The choice is clear: return to your roots, ASUS. Focus on what made the ROG series a legend. The lion doesn’t need to imitate—it needs to lead.
Let the world hear the roar again. The gaming community believes in you.
ASUS, the Taiwanese Lion must roar once more!
