HighVoltageLP, 04 Feb 2025What about the Non-Ultra?There isn't one, and probably won't be, based on last year's situation with the 11 Ultra.

I have been partial to Zenfones for may years. I had the 8, the 9, the 10 and now I'm using the 11. Looking at the expected specs for the 12 I really can't justify buying it. What is so different from the 11 to even put this in the market place? Why don't these tech companies realise we don't want these huge phones? The Zen10 has 512gb and a headphone jack in a small size. I only upgraded to get a better outdoor screen display. make a Zen11 a proper size and I'll buy it.

David 040882, 03 Feb 2025Most boring phone of the year and it's barely February... moreI guess maybe the 3.5mm jack (which the ROG also has)? But, otherwise, a very mediocre flagship.

They seem to have mixed up the design a little compared to the ROG 9 Pro, mainly in the camera bump. Last time round the ZF11U and ROG 8 Pro looked basically identical.
Just a shame they didn't change anything else. Exactly the same FHD+ screen as the 9 Pro in a world where QHD+ is common in this size / price class, exactly the same 2 OS + 2 years of security when most are offering 7 or more, exactly the same 65W charging they're doing a good job of pretending isn't just PPS (no, seriously) to make people buy their charger.
Including a headphone jack isn't enough to compete when the phone isn't competing anywhere else, the sales bump they had last year was mainly due to being in the more common size class.

Well i do avoid asus after they locked the bootloader. Their software update policies is bad only 2 years and slow at it even xiaomi giving faster updates. Their selfie camera is so bad, slow charging speed. The stock UI is lacking feature

The gimbal will attract folks. Previous models with one performed well but also suffered with terrible front facing cameras. This phone actually will be pretty good all round. I actually don't mind a slightly thicker phone. I saw comments complaining that phones need to be thicker to have a better battery. An extra bit of width is fine by me. Phone size does limit what it can hold. Smaller and more compact phones tend to be the non pro versions for a reason. With great size means larger parts.

I will say, this design is better than the previous generation. The camera island is even smaller and shares same tone as the back. Makes it look more cleaner and understated. They should've opted for a 1.5K display though.
Is it still as pricey as before? Very possibly.
