AT&T cancels Galaxy Fold pre-orders, will offer compensations to customers

After Best Buy canceled its Samsung Galaxy Fold pre-orders, AT&T has also informed its customers that it's following suit. In emails sent out to those who pre-ordered the device, the carrier explained that Samsung’s delays were taking too long and the best decision was to offer out full refunds.

As an added bonus, AT&T is also giving out one-time $100 promo cards directly to those who pre-ordered the device. All refunds will be promptly scheduled in the upcoming 60-days and the gift card will go towards the clients’ AT&T billing account.

This decision means the Galaxy Fold's return is not as close as previous reports suggested.

Last month reports from Korea detailed that Samsung is hard at work fixing the Galaxy Fold’s two main weaknesses namely its hinge mechanism by reducing the gaps and readjusting the display protective film into the body of the phone preventing from accidental removals.

I knew the Fold was DoA, and I knew I should've pre-ordered! Now I still have my money, but without the $100 promo card :(

Just like lambdroids still praise samsung after the note 7 and now the fold fiasco. But it can happen to any company and has happened to plenty of them. But samsung problems are on a different level
