AT&T Galaxy S7 and S7 edge getting May security update

Himanshu, 13 May, 2016

Several users are reporting that AT&T has started rolling out the latest security update to Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge units on its network. The update bumps the device's security patch level to the month of May.

The carrier is yet to update its official website with details of the ongoing roll-out, so we aren't sure at the moment what else (if at all) is included in the update.

Given that the update has just started rolling out, it may take some time before the OTA notification pops on your device. However, if you are feeling impatient, you can also manually check for the update by heading to your handset's Settings menu.

I don't understand why aren't there class action lawsuits yet against the OEMs and carried for intentionally delaying security patches. Imagine if Dell or HP delays security patches released for Windows that Microsoft released weeks ago.
