AT&T starts rolling out Jelly Bean updates for its Sony Xperia TL

12 March, 2013

Sony Xperia TL, which is the US version of the "James Bond" phone, is one of the better looking mid-range smartphones in the market. The good news for all of you who got the AT&T version of the Xperia TL smartphone is that the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean updates for the device is now officially available.

The latest Android 4.1 update for the Xperia TL comes with the usual goodies native to Jelly Bean along with the carrier's DriveMode application. AT&T DriveMode is an exclusive app that helps curb texting and driving.

AT&T DriveMode application allows you to set-up customizable replies and sends it automatically in response to incoming messages once a vehicle starts moving at 25mph. The feature can also be used to reply to texts, emails and wireless callers.

The update notification will pop up on your smartphone and just in case you missed it, you can update your smartphone by connecting to Wi-Fi and selecting 'Applications', 'Settings', 'About phone' and 'Software update'.
