@dinno - tell me? did you insert the sim card on it? did you turn on the wireless on it? there are a lot to consider and i dont believe it if you'll say benq service centers dont know how to fix it. they must give an option or somehow.
i have my phone for a year and a half and it does great to me. thanks..
please if you have a hassle on your phone.. just give it to me. hehehe. i might as well make ways to have it usable. thanks.. hehehe

@hassan just download it from www.microsoft.com search for active sync ...
best of luck...
all i can say is that this phone can still match the power of my other windows mobile phones with just less price. its my collection that's why i can compare.
for others who had a bad idea about this phone, all i can say is this: "buy yourself an ordinary phone" if you dont know what's th use of it. and yeah, just give me your phone since you compare it as a junk phone. hehehe.

b4 i bought this phone, well i made sure what i like that cost less. i have a laptop which gives me 5hrs up of usage on the battery life. but it seems carrying it all the time is a hassle.. so i bought this phone and its actually great since i can sychronize it with my laptop... 2nd compare to other brand models which has a windows based OS... like O2 or blackberry, well my benq is a lot faster. Proof: i installed programs that are heavy enough to run on these phones and still my benq tops it all (FYI: my friends have an O2 and a blackberry, so i know)... well from here.. hope it gives you a great idea why this phone is great!

I’ve just used my benq p50 for only 3 days (september 2006), and suddenly the phone hung and after I did the soft reset the phone work perfectly except every times I tried to make a phone call or sms, pop up windows state that "A wireless radio must be attached to use the phone"? i did also hard reset even upgrade the firmware to V1.15 but still recieved that error message.
What seems the problem?Please anyone help me!!
Now it is more than a year i had this useless phone, and no one seems to care about what happen to it here... does anybody here work at benq-siemens service and repair so can give me the answer or at least option?? no wonder benq-siemens now collapse because they don't have a good after sales and service!!!! I've tried Indonesia and South Africa Service center and THEY COULDN'T fix the problem and just GAVE UP on me!!!

I. I'm facing an quite strange situation, for a few month i set my benqP50 to connect to my home wi-fi connection and it worked beautifully. a few days ago, i set my device to connect internet using the "Cell Line" as i wasn´t home. (i had a new modem connection at the menu connections-My ISP). From that day on the wireless connection never worked again, this is, when i tried to open any page on explorer, even after checking on router that i was connected, the device automatically connected to the Internet via "cell line", and even after deleting this connection i continue to be unable to connect to the Internet and whenever i try it i get a error message, "Unable to connect: You have no modem entries created, and no network card present"
Does any one had the same problem? How can I fix it? Thanks

for install .Net Compact Framework V2 on BenQP50 you need locate file NETCFv2.wce4.ARMV4.cab in C:\Program Files\Microsoft.NET\SDK\CompactFramework\v2.0\WindowsCE\wce400\armv4\ after you install NETCFSetupv2.msi from microsoft
upload the file NETCFv2.wce4.ARMV4.cab to P50 and execute it a warning was display but you can continue

I am from the UAE too, i have been using the P50 for the past 2 yrs and it is working beautifully. The only issue i faced was battery life which has solved after i bought a high capacity Battery from Hong Kong which actually lasts upto 3days with normal usage. I can arrange a battery for you if you need it, send me an email with your contact details. Also letme know if you need any specific tips with regard to the usage of this phone.

The best piece of advice I have for anybody thinking about buying a Benq P50 is DON'T!
I recently bought a used one and, not only does this overly complicated piece of junk have a mind of it's own, the manual is virtually useless!

@mr philippines - wifi can be used if your in a hot spot zone. just try to activate your wifi, and browse your p50. - and yes, some needs access codes.. as long as its detected and needs no access codes, then your ready to go.
@Said Munir - sycronizing alone wont backup your files... better do some backup on your p50 first b4 you experience sycronizing... that is what i do most with my windows mobile phones. i have 2 right now. hehehe.
@Said Munir - about your cd... everything is on the net my friend... that's the beauty of windows mobile.

@gareth - y? do you think blackbery is the best? please dont compare benq p50 from blackberry, prices differ much as well as of their uses. if you want to compare your blackberry, then compare it with my I-phone. blackberry is most likely just a phone. hahaha

I have this phone for almost 2yrs now i got if from philippines. first i hate it bec. im just new to it and it gives me lots of problem but when you have it for awhile you will learn that this is not bad doh the camera i dont really use it bec. it's really bad, battery i have to charge it everyday or when i use it much i have to charge it atleast twice a day. anyone need software for this i have it i can lend it if you are not far from where i live(San Jose)CA. one thing i havent figure it out yet is how to use WIFI do you need an internet service to activate this?

I got brand new benq p50 for almost a year now, I got it from USA, but I only able to use it for a week, what happened is the phone was freeze and I did soft reset and since then every time I need to make a phone call, always error message pop out says "A wireless radio must be attached to use the phone" I've tried Benq services in South Africa ( the good thing I got from them is firmware 1.15) and Indonesia but none of them knows the problem and fix it.
Right now I used my P50 as PDA everything work perfect except if I need to make a call or sms, I need to find out if anyone know what seems the problem.. many thanks

i like this phone a lot but i can't get enough of its features because of its poor battery life. The camera works fine outdoors on daylight but not indoors...despite its few flaws, this phone's just fine. :-)

Benq p50 is very nice looking but its processor is so slow 416 mhz. 1.3 mp camera is not good, 64 mb ram shameful, i don't like this phone. I like blackberry mobile phones.. Sorry benq

@ benQ p user- i only have the unit and charger..i dont have the cd.. where can i find that cd beause i have my unit from a friend and he told me that he lost other accesories including that cd.
@ blackberry- im using windows xp and my laptop is new.. my unit is good..mu usb is new..i have downloaded active sync from microsoft and everytime i tried to connect it, my contacts and messages are not syncronize..though other folders are properly ok.. is it the sync that i downloaded from microsoft that is not compatible with benq? i downloaded the active sync 4.5.. i have known a friend and he told me that this version have bug so i have to shift back to 4.2V.. it is true?
can anyone lend me a benq p5o cd? u can send it though my email jaepz03@yahoo.com

i want to maximize the features of this phone, though it has low battery quality i believe that this phone quite good..
