You need a UMTS sim card to get 3G Lisa. Also.. go into your network settings...look for network band or whatever has the band in it i.e 900,1800 or 2100(UMTS)...select 2100/UMTS or select automatic. Note that you will only get 3G reception if you already have a 3g enabled simcard...aka USIM (u stands for UMTS).
Also.. seems to me the v3x smashes this phone as there are loads of moans about it.

Does anyone know how I can find the 3G option on this phone. I am on the Vodaphone network. Bought phone from phones 4 U was given one months free 3G. But can't find in a menu. Rang Siemens but got indian call centre. Didn't understand what I was on about!! Vodaphone say they don't know as they don't supply this model direct. Can anyone help???

1. Install Mobile Phone Manager from CD.
2. Run "Mobile Phone Manager"
3. Now connect phone with USB cable
4. Phone gets recognised as new disk (in windows explorer!!!)
5. Copy any mp3 file to the "sounds" of the phone
6. Same way copy everything (games, applications, pictures etc) to phone!

A love the phone which I bought SIM free from Siemens. I haven't yet managed to work out how to use the MP3 function yet though, specifically how to move tracks from the PC to the phone - anyone well versed up on this already who can help (in not too technical terms)?

I've tested this phone two weeks ago. So here's my opinions: good -displays, camera, video call, allot of features, bad - actually is a big and heavy phone, not so good keypad, annoying twisted and slow menu, low battery life. So, if u can live with that and spend around 500$, could be a natural choice... I wouldnt recommended..

the little head is actually profile for General icon.
can anyone know how to input chinese for EF81?
coz apart from not able to read and write in chinese, i have nothing to say about this phone.
one of the best i've owned so far out from 50+ from others!!!

have had the e81 for 3 weeks and can only get 30 hours of battery life not the 300 as claimed.
unable to download files sent by bluetooth.
apart from that not a bad phone

Love the look. 2 problems:
Keeps dropping calls on Vodafone for no reason and doesn't always pick up the signal. Has anyone else had this issue?
Can't seem to get connectivity to the PC working thru the cable. Doesn't "see" that phone is connected. Any ideas?

the soft is a little bit slow
it seems that video record length is: 5 mnts ..not more...
confirmation of reception sms to be set every time before sending the message.
have flwd bug: no sound record on my video..
But: camera,screens,sound of mp3 are good quality..battery charge thru usb aswell..
Built in material is good as well as the design

The phone has been in phones-4-u for a few weeks now (I believe they will sell it exclusively till the end of the month. I bought mine directly from siemens (also cheaper that way. I know the Link have decided that they are no longer going to take it in but Carphone Warehouse still hope to have it soon

For all of you in the UK wondering about what networks the EF81 is going to available on, I can confirm that both three and T-mobile will be stocking it at some point. Not sure aboyut other networks. But lets just hope it actually comes out this summer! One thing to think about is why has it been delayed so long? Surely there must be some problem with it? And if so are BenQ-Siemens going to dleya release until the problem is totally fixed or like some other unscrupulous phone providers, just bring it out anyway? I can only hope that its out soon and problem free.
