The best-sounding smartphones and tablets of 2024

The top speakers among midrangers
We are stretching the midrange category to include all phones that are not flagships. Goiung through all of them was no easy task, especially picking out the best ones. However, one handset, in particular, stood out. The Honor 200 Pro is the best-sounding non-flagship phone we've reviewed this year.
Its speakers are well-balanced with noticeable bass without overpowering the mids and highs. Pretty much everything about the device's speakers sounds right.
The Motorola Edge 50 Pro takes the second spot among the best-sounding non-flagships this year. It has clean vocals and generally full-sounding tracks. It's a very strong runner-up, almost matching the Honor 200 Pro.
At third place, we chose the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+, which sits at the top of the Redmi Note 13 lineup. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ houses an impressive stereo speaker setup - among the best this year. It may not have the same oomph as the other two smartphones but it's got a clean sound and decent bass. Its slightly cheaper sibling the Redmi Note 13 Pro is another great budget choice with nice-sounding speakers but due to its slightly flatter sound, it didn't make the cut for the podim.

One thing I'd love to see is a comparative test of *microphones*. Phone mics are good for frequency range, but when will they make external condenser mics obsolete? Please consider a full test of these!

There are only two types of smartphone speakers. ROG Phone 7 and others.

The Audio is tiny and lacks bass by default ? Just listened to it on studio monitor speakers and it's garbage.
