Black Shark 2 receives Android 10-based JoyUI 11 update

Ro, 28 April 2020

Starting today Xiaomi is seeding the JoyUI 11 update based on Android 10 to the Black Shark 2 gaming phone. Only select phones will be included in what the company calls first wave, with broader rollout scheduled for May 6.

That is, of course, unless any major issues are found in the ongoing soak test. If you are among those that get to participate you have to prepare for a download of about 1.9GB.

It's well worth it though - you get a revamped UI with new Black Shark themes. The changelog highlights also include new file manager and navigation gestures as well plenty of tweaks for the gaming center. The company compiled the neat infographic below to tell you about the highlights of the new firmware.

In the official tweet, the company also promised that Black Shark 2 Pro owners will be getting the much-awaited upgrade starting April 30. It will be a similarly staged rollout with broader availability again starting on May 6.
