Na, you don't need to bridge it. just have a 3G/4G sim card and off you go.
Nor is BIS needed for the wifi only version (i happen to own one of those).
Email and all the other stuff uses industry standards in this case.
However if you NEED BIS/BES, you can have it via bridge, but for regular usage (i.e. non company, non governmental) you just load it up, plug the sim, off you go.

Pls I need to understand this device.
1. For browsing, does it use BIS/BES subscription since it has a microsim or do u have to pay for regular 3G data plans
2. Does the connection to your phone via a bridge allow for use of the phone's bis to browse the internet.

Anonymous, 14 Dec 2012does it have bbm No, it doesn't have its own BBM.. you just sync your BB phone by BB Bridge and chat using the tablet but on your BB's Pin.. which means you must have a BB Smartphone first.

The connection would be though a Wifi Modem or your blackberry Phone using Blackberry Bridge.
