Some BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930 users have reported their blackberrys are bricking after being charged overnight. Apparently the BBs won't wake from sleep when the user tries to use it in the morning.
A RIM spokesperson confirmed the problem to CNBC and RIM is working on a solution. A RIM spokesperson said, "A limited number of customers have reported an issue where their device does not power on," and that RIM is "actively working on a software update to resolve this issue."
CrackBerry describes the issue: "Instead of your BlackBerry booting up properly, something goes wrong. You might get a JVM or App Error message, the phone might go into an endless reboot cycle, or occasionally it'll just sit there blinking red lights with the display never really turning on. Whichever way it manifests itself, I consider it nuked or bricked. Until fixed, your BlackBerry is useless. I'm really starting to wonder if BlackBerry 7 has some weird issues that allow it to brick a little easier than it should. I received quite a few tweets where people have also bricked their 9900s. And even on the Crack Team we've seen it happen more than it should."

I have BB 9900. In 3g the battery last like 7 or 8 hours. Im using it in edge (2G) and the battery improve a 100% with all the functions on, fcebook, twitter, etc. I tun on at 7 am and till 11 pm it works great. At these time 11 pm it remains a 30% of battery. When i need to download something I change it to 3G or connect wifi

I got my BlackBerry Bold 9900 and it is a great and powerful phone. My only complaint is the battery life. I had to charge every 5 hours.

Donhils, 07 Dec 2011Pls can somebody clarify dis issue for me? This bad battery... moreGood question! BB9900 Bold battery is 1230mAH but running at 1.2ghz whilst N8 battery 1200mAH running at 680mhz. It's like comparing a Toyota Rav4 2.0 engine with a 60 litre fuel tank and a Range Rover 4.8 with a 90 litre fuel tank....which is going to be more thirsty???!!! Despite the bigger tank / battery!!! Hope this helps.

Jamie, 07 Dec 2011I am in the process of considering the purchase of a bb9900... moreTurn off location enabling. This uses too many resources for no benefit. Turn down screen brightness and time. I have no problems at all for inexcess of 50 calls, emails, or bbms per day, but rarely waste my time on the internet. The phone easy last for the day with something like 30% left in battery. Fine by me. Also have a new Samsung Note which has far worse battery and finished within 6 hours of solid use.

I Must say, initially when i was reading user opinions, expert reviews, pros & cons....i hesitated to buy this phone and always went to stores and checked the phone closely then took the decision and got the phone.
this phone is the best BB phone ever.
u can feel quality(heavy Duty not like crapy baby toy phones like"no offence"), speed, user friendly GUI, HQ Camera, amazing KB and not bad battery life considering that its a smart phone with touch screen and 3G(power consumption)and i strongly recommend to get this phone to everyone

I am in the process of considering the purchase of a bb9900 but with so many complaints of battery life I am rethinking will this be a bad investment. I do not have US810.00 to throw away. Can a person be honest and tell me something honest?

Pls can somebody clarify dis issue for me? This bad battery that everybody is complainin about in dis bold touch 9900. My Nokia N8 uses a Li-on 1200mAh and its not bad at all so Why will this blackberry with a Li-on 1230mAh be very bad? My question is wat actually determines d longevity of battery?

hello, i love this phone even when it hasn't released yet :) so i read the battery didn't last long, but some said the 2nd batch are better how can you identify your phone is the 2nd batch?? since im planning to get it please help....
