I left blackberry in jan to go HTC. even tho the HTC was good..... i missed the blackberry. But blackberry needed to improve there phones and fast and THEY DID. The 9900 is brilliant, smooth, fast, internet is better, screen, video. The whole phone is Amazing. Ive had blackberry before the HTC for 4 Years and its amazing how exciting im getting about the improvments. WELL DONE BB.

I got the blackberry from Ebay in the US for $885.

          PROS
Its extremely fast with no glitches
          Very responsive and
Really really light for a powerful device.
Browsing is a pleasure and the screen is really crisp.

I never owned a bb, I just switched from my HTC touch HD (old phone).

          CONS
Many pple said battery is the problem but if you operate the device at 20% screen brightness and play with it the whole day, it takes two full days to die out. Its always the screen brightness, let it be the iphone, ipad or any electronic device, it will last longer with lower brightness and honestly the 20% brightness is pretty vivid so it really helps the battery and pretty nice to see as well.

Overall this is a huge improvement on the bold series simple because of a much faster processor and redesigned keys and a very light device.

I recommend it for all those who want to have a great business phone.

I gave up blackberry about a year ago. I have now gone back to it simply because the improvements are great. Basic point is the form factor. Most people forget that form factor speaks most in all devices and this one is cool. The slim feel is just simply great and makes having and holding one very very nice. As for big improvements , well , how do you make a good device better these days, when they like the BB more or less has so much already. You can ask for more of what it has already, but then the hardcore critics will want more. My main decision to switch back was the form factor, slim and cool. As for the battery, I have to say it does look that the battery has not lived up to the rest of the device, as it seemed to run out much quicker than the other BB's. Still worth in my view, a definite must buy.

The Camera quality is hopeless and no where near to their own previous model Bold 9780. It has a fixed focus camera and is very poor at macro shots. On taking a shot of text closely the text is barely legible which was not a problem with Bold 9780. For extended users the touchscreen is a drawback while using cursor specially while browsing. When one is scrolling the page upwards you would tend to accidentally hit the touch screen with your thumb which in turn would result the page not scrolling properly and would scroll back to the bottom. Battery life not optimum.

Rest everything else seems good. Well spaced keys, good display and touchscreen. Look wise a beauty.

This device is amazing we had one in our store in South Africa, JHB. It is so fluid, the speed is outstanding. They are finally bringing something to the table I almost gave up on BlackBerry. The new features are awesome, and finally games that arent flat.

Kevin, 23 Aug 2011I am in Australia and Optus has just brought out this phone... moreI have a BB Curve 8520, and previously had the Curve 8320, and I have never had problems with battery life. My current BB will last several days, using considerable wifi and making phonecalls.
I have recently upgraded to OS5 which has taken a toll on battery, but on a device three years old with an original battery, I don't see this as a fault - just a matter of technology moving on as quickly as it does.
I will be purchasing the Bold 9900 when it is released in NZ, despite what people say about the battery.
