Blackberry need to start considering matching iPhone’s 4 UMTS bands and the new Nokia’s 5 UMTS bands if it is to be considered a truly international business device. In Australia we have 3 Carriers using different 3 different UMTS Freqs - 2100 MHz is common across all 3 carriers in metropolitan areas but 900 MHz and 850 MHz are used by different carriers to cover regional areas. Other than Apple and Nokia, it’s hard to find a handset to work best with all carriers in all mobile areas and when overseas. 4 or 5 UMTS bands aids versatility and reduces alliance on a single carrier. BB should join Apple and Nokia and go up a notch.
