Has anyone experienced the "Camera Freeze" on this 8300? When I choose to use the camera the 8300 just freezes with a black screen. I have to reset the battery to get it working again...

Thanks,
CJH

    Hi all,

I am with a small business and currently use laptop and USB adaptor to get emails from a pop 3 server. I have a great phone already but want a good device for emails on the move rather than booting up the laptop frequently. I get 20-30 emails a day about 20% of which have attachments (Word, Excel, PDF etc), but I can generally wait to get back to base to get these if needed. Overall would you recommend the 8300?
    Advice appreciated...

To vikesh jain ... I am almost 100 poitive that Curve and 8800 ahve the same size screen. you can compare them side by side on this website. Open the curve review, click on compare (right uner the phone pic) then choose the BalckBerry 8800 that you want to compare it with. You can compare alll the specs.

        Cheers

Hey guys, anyone know if you can record your voice notes on this? It's just that I don't want to carry a digital recorder & 8300 at the same time. Many thanks...

Go into settings and under Screen/Keyboard. There is a setting for Trackball sensitivity.

The only thing I don't like about the phone is the track ball it jumps around to much the palm 700 phone is what I currently use and the navigation is much easier to use. This phone might be next phone I buy since palm can not get there act together and install a built in flash for the camera. TOO BAD for Palm.

Got mine 3 days ago and i have to say i am impressed, i was amazed at how easy it was to get my email up and running, it literally just asked for my address and password and does the rest itself and was working in under 20 minutes. As for being able to view documents, i got an email today with a word attachment and it opened it with no questions asked, also sent myself a pdf and that words again with no questions asked. I love the maps feature and also google maps works brilliantly on here, blackberry messenger although very basic in looks is a great tool to have and communicate with. The Camera is alot better than i expected and i like that you can use the whole screen as the viewfinder. Before this i had a Nokia N91 and found the email system on there very frustrating as well as gettin the wifi to work and it crashing and losing all my contacts, now wih my curve it just works, granted there is no wifi but i have had no problems with speed etc accessing email or the internet, this is a great tool to have and works really well, i am yet to find a fault with it except maybe that you can find yourself playin with it for ages! One other cool thing is that it comes with a holster and when you put the blackberry in it automatically senses that its in the holster and turns the screen off straght away and activates the holster profile which you can change as you wish, meaning without you doing anything when you put it in your pocket it will switch to vibrate whilst when out of its case it will ring loud without any changes being made by me, the same happens when you remove it from the holster, the screen comes on and it wakes up by itself. I would definitely recommend this phone to anyone, the interface is a bit tricky to start with but after a day or two you can do most things without thinking about it and as for the build quality, i like it, it feels good in my hand is light but no too light, the buttnos are perfect and the trackball is a great idea, a GREAT phone!!

In reponse to the question "can calls be recorded" the answer is conventionaly no. But there is most likely some thirdparty software that could do it... i recommend www.handango.com they have some great software but its not free, or you could go through the posts on www.pinstack.com to try and find something. Also i recommend that you get a memory card for this as the ammount of memory on the hs is limited for this sort of thing.

REgarding the dropped calls, we recently depolyed 8300/8100, we have some 8300 dropping calls and we are just replacing them. I did notice that the problems seem prevailant on the Hungarian handsets, the Canadian handsets have not had any issues . . yet, Can those who are experiencing dropped calls checn the country of manufacture and post.

                              thanks

I saw the BB Curve in the showroom today. I feel the finish of the phone is not upto the mark. The quality of plastic is bad. BB 8800 finish is much better to the curve

Does the CURVE have traditional blackberry type scrolling at the side with the wheel? If it does not, is it easy to maneuver through your phone with one hand?
